ANTHRAX

Saturday, Nov. 29th
Club Liquid
Leomister, Mass...This show was Chris and I's 10th time seeing Anthrax. We took his mom along with us so she could meet Charlie. (THE DRUMMER OF ANTHRAX, for those who haven't read my other Anthrax write-ups.) Which I'll go into more detail later in this write up. We got to Club Liquid around 9:30pm. We missed the first two bands. When I first heard that Slaves on Dope were coming up, I wasn't sure how to react. I've never really was a fan of them. But after seeing them live I'm willing to give them another chance. We did chat with the singer after the whole show was over. I gave him a couple of cookie that I brought with me for the Anthrax guys, because the poor guy was starving. He passed on the bourbon balls because he's an alcoholic. Which I thought was pretty cool. More power to him. Back to their set, sorry....they did a very interesting cover of 'War Pigs'. After a decent set by them, it didn't take long for Anthrax to hit the stage. For the first time, 10 shows with Chris and 12 all together, they played 'Indians'. I told a bunch of people that and they all said the same, "That's rare." Some of the other songs they played were, 'Got the Time', 'Caught in the Mosh', 'Be All...', 'I, AM THE LAW', 'Belly of the Beast', 'Anti-Social'(wouldn't be an Anthrax show without it.), 'Safe Home', 'You Can Not Kill...', 'Refuse to be Denied', 'Only' and I know I'm missing one here. NO, I didn't have too much to drink. I'm just sure I missed one in there. The place was packed and the floor was moving. For those who went to Attleboro instead, YOU MISSED A GREAT FRIGGIN' SHOW! It was awesome. After the show we caught up the their new guitarist, Rob, and gave him a special gift for pitching us beers at the Lupos show. He was nice enough to take pictures with us and to let Charlie know we were there. After alittle wait, we were let back
to see Charlie by roadie/crew guy, Steve. Steve's a very nice guy. If you see him, treat him good. You can't miss him, he has a mohawk kinda like Robs. Mrs. Grimes, Chris and I brought a bunch of baked goods with us for the guys in the band. (It was also Charlie's birthday a few days before and come to find out Rob's was on Nov. 7th.) We could tell that Charlie was taken back by this and very appreciative of the gesture. I see that it's only fair to treat them good since Charlie has been so nice to Chris and I. Charlie asked the three of us to have a seat and asked if we would like to have a soda or water. I couldn't pass up a ginger ale. Mrs. Grimes and Chris politely said no. We sat and chatted with Charlie, and Steve when he wasn't packing things away. We must've talked for about an hour or so about everything. Even G.I. Joe. We asked Charlie if we were keeping him for things, and he said no. Like I've said before. Charlie is a great man. He offered Chris and his mom, a second time, for a soda. This time they excepted and this will just show you even more how cool Charlie is, he got up and got them the drinks. Rock stars are pretty human at times. :) Soon it was time to let him get on the bus. He thanked us for the sweeties and took pictures with us before sending us on our way. This great friendship Chris and I have, started 5 years ago, today, Dec 2nd at an Anthrax show. That day was also the start of a great friendship with Charlie. If you ever meet me in person, ask me how I got to meet Charlie in the first place. It's a funny story that must be told face to face to get the full effect. And no, it had nothing to do with any sexual favors. Well, not really... you have to ask to find out what I mean. Thank you Charlie, Rob and the rest of the guys of Anthrax. You guys RULE! To hear the story, see me at Jarrod's Place, Dec 6th for Meliah Rage/CSDO/Bane OF Existence/Norseth, and some band called CauTion. $10 to get in, 18+, doors at 8pm. I'll be wearing my CSDO sweatshirt. I am very personable and like meeting true metal fans. Up the irons!

JOAN JETT

Memorial Hall, Plymouth, Mass

11/15/03

The place was Plymouth Memorial Hall, in Plymouth, Mass. A little chilly that night but Chris and I headed out for a show that I've been wanting to go to since I was 10. That was 21 years now. We went to see The Goddess of Metal, Joan Jett. Some comedian opened the show. I don't know exactly who he was, but he was funny. I'll tell ya, when I hit Joan's age, I hope I look half as good as her. She looks amazing. AND SOUNDS AMAZING! She played all of the favorites plus some surprises. One of those surprises was 'Science Fiction, Double Feature' from the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show. She played Columbia in the stage production of the movie. She made it sound better than the sound track itself. Some other songs she threw at us with some pretty heavy/hard brute force. Yes, brute force. She was loud, heavy and fast. Of course it wouldn't be Joan Jett without 'I Love Rock'n'Roll'. She also did her cover of 'Crimson and Clover'. Also, 'Light of Day', 'I Hate Myself for Loving You', 'Bad Reputation', Roadrunner' cover of the Mary Taylor Moore show, and 'Victim of Circumstance'. She did a few other song, but sadly I can't remember them. You have to understand, I cried at the beginning of the show because I've been waiting so long for this and it was extra special because Chris was there too. Ya, I'm such a chic, I know. I'm so rateful that I got a chance to go to this show. I'm a huge fan of The Ramones and never got to see them. This was a chance I couldn't miss. Not that Joan is in bad health or nything but I couldn't wait. Another great person I never got to see was Wendy O. Williams. She's been gone awhile now. Trust me, the next time Alice Cooper comes
around, I'm goin'. Don't ever forget those great bands you grew up on, most are still out there. Don't pass them by 'cause they're"old". Go and see them. You might be surprised. If not, I'm sorry. Hope to see everyone at Good Times on Nov. 22nd for Bane of Existence. They're also playing with Meliah Rage, CSDO, and Noresth Dec. 6th at Jarrod's Place. OH, Nov. 29th is Anthrax at Club Liquid in Leomister, Mass. It's the day after Charlie's birthday. Go and wish him a Happy Birthday. See ya all reallllllllllllllll soon.

MELIAH RAGE, CANDY STRIPER DEATH ORGY,The Glamourous Stuntcocks & Dusk Raven @ BILLS BAR 10.27.03

On a chilly, rainy Monday night four of us piled into the car and took the Mass pike into Boston for a night of real metal. Mrs. Grimes, Jen,
Chris and I parked the car to walk in the rain to Bill's Bar. After standing in the horrible weather for 20 minutes, we were all your on a guest list and
moved inside quick. The first band was Dusk Raven. I think this was my second or third time seeing them. Each time has been a treat. The drummer snuck me a set list after he got off stage. Their set went, 'God of the Godless', 'From Miracle to Tragedy', 'Ashes Unsettled', 'A Personal Hell' and 'Wishing You Were Dead'. Short set done very well. Next was a band I've never heard of, but man did they ROCK! The Glamourous Stuntcocks. What an interesting name, huh? Talk about LA Sleaze Rock. Reminded me of the glorious hay days of Friday night parties after the high school dances. To me they were a mix between Smashed Gladys and the Cycle Sluts from Hell. Who know, they did the song 'Hey, There Mister.... Wish You Were a Beer.' The video was on Headbangers Ball and on one of Beavis and Butthead shows. Anyways, they kicked. Their set included, 'Let's Rock', 'Rocket', 'Outlaw', 'Hot on Your Heels', '666', 'Can't Control Me', Let's Go', 'Beer&Ciggs'. 'Idols' and their cover of Crue's 'Livewire'. Could've done without the throwing of drinks into the crowd that hurt one person and beaned me in the head with ice, but their music is what counts. Next up was Candy Stiper Death Orgy. After a little bit of difficulty, things came together and their set was awesome. Can I remember their set list? NO! Did they give me one? NO! You have to understand, CSDO has been around for a long time, they decide on stage what they'll do. That way, and I'm not saying every band's set list is that same every night, but it keeps the set fresh. I know for sure, that they did 'Killing Force, 'WW3' and my favorite 'Holocaustic'. Like I've said before, there's not much else I can say about them except GO AND SEE THEM! The last band to go on was Meliah Rage. The newly re-united Meliah Rage. Their set was cut short and some of the songs on the set list weren't played. But, hey, it wasn't their fault. Their set list was supposed to be, 'Hate Machine', 'Solitary Solitude', 'No Mind', 'Prideland', 'Barely Human', Motor Psycho', 'Beginning of the End', 'Bates Motel', 'The Witching', 'Wrong Place', 'Crow' and 'Blood Bath'. They played a great set for time allowed. We all a great time! It was good to see Jim and Brandon of Bane of Existence's there as well as Joe from Not Common Records. There was a pretty good turn out, but I hope the Dec6th show has a better turn out since it's on a Saturday night at Jarrod's Place. On that Meliah Rage show there will be Bane of Existence, CSDO and Norseth. Hope to see ya all there.Tickets can be bought from the bands as well as Jarrod's Place and places that sell tickets for Jarrod's Place. That would be threw Next Tickets. But buying from the bands would be best.

10-19-03
Anthrax
Lupos Heartbreak Hotel

Just when I think I could print or say anything more on Anthrax, they go out and out do themselves, again. I met up the three members of the
Grimes family and Jen's boyfriend, at their house in Milford. Off we went to Lupos. This was Chris and I's 8th time seeing Anthrax live. We missed the
first band, whoever they were, which come to find out from the crowd, was no big loss. We caught a decent set by the band Imprint. We ran into Big Jim from HJY radio. He's such a good guy. We didn't wait too long for Anthrax to take the stage. Sometimes when you go to a show, there is that one moment that can just take your breath away. Something that is so beautiful it touches your soul and makes you cry. This moment happened when John Bush paid tribute to Dr. Metal by dedicating 'Safe Home' in Doc's memory. For those who don't know, John was good friends with Doc. But then again, Doc was good friends to lots, even those listeners he never met. I was one of those lucky one's who did know him personally. I thought that I couldn't respect Anthrax anymore then I already had, but this unselfish, amazingly beautiful act of class just deepens my respect even more. Big Jim, who has taken over the Metal Zone for Doc, raised his beer up. As always, their set was awesome. They even threw in a few songs I haven't seen them do live. One was 'I Am the Law'. Chris was stunned when they broke into 'Fuel', which is his favorite song that he's never seen live. Once again they did one of my favorites, 'Belly of the Beast'. I'll tell you, it was one hell of a night. Afterwards, four of us were able to hang out after, thanks again to Charlie. Thank you! We got to chat with him, John for a bit and Rob. We had a few pix taken with Charlie & Rob, got Charlie's autograph on a few things(a pass signed for Chris' brother AJ, who couldn't go to the show. Thank you CB.), and Rob pitched Chris & I a beer each. That was pretty damn cool of him. (neither one of us were driving.) Thank you. He even went back and got Jen a water. This was a show well worth the lack of sleep I got to go to work the next day. A WHOLE HOUR'S WORTH. Thank God, I only had to work one of my two jobs. Thank you Anthrax very much for everything. Thank you Charlie. Hope to see everyone for CSDO/Meliah Rage at Bill's Bar on Oct. 27th and or B.O.E show Nov. 1st at O'Briens. Both CSDO, B.O.E, along with Norseth are playing with Meliah Rage on Dec. 6th at Jarrod's Place. Contact the bands for tickets. They are available, $10, 18+, doors at 8pm. Let's pack the place and show Jarrod a real metal crowd.

Anthrax Bangor, ME

Hey there people! Recently two friends and I went up to see Anthrax in Bangor, ME. We made a nice little weekend of the trip. Nothing like
hanging with great friends to see a great band. We stayed two nights at The Best Western right off exit 44 off 95. One of the best hotel/motel stays. We put out the 'Privacy' sign and no one bothered us. Anyways, the show was at Russell's. You might remember them from some of the articles in the papers about the Station Club fire. It['s not a bad little club, eventhough there was quite a mix up and one of my friends that went couldn't get in because she was underaged. We didn't know that it was 21+. My friend was just happy to get away from her roomie at college. She did make it in for the meet and greet at the end of the night. The opening band Sandbag was pretty good. They played a decent set. The next band on was Melee. I've actually seen these guys at Jarrod's Place awhile back. They were good then and even with out a sound check, they sounded good. Then it was time for ANTHRAX! Some of the songs they played were, 'Black Daliah','You Cannot Kill...','Black Lodge','Anti Social','N.F.L','Bring the Noise' and 'Madhouse'. Two big surprise that just slapped my in the face and opened my eyes were 'Belly of the Beast' and AC/DC's 'Whole Lotta
Rosie'. WOW!!!!! After the show came the meet and greet that was set up by a local radio show. We got a pix with Charlie and Scott. If you check out
their site, www.anthraxtheband.com you'll see our us written in Charlie's write up on the show. I think this was one of the best shows I've been to. I'm glad I took the trip, it was more than well worth it. Thank you Anthrax for the passes, tickets and memories. Not only was it Anthrax's first time playing
Bangor it was also Chris' first time in ME. Hope to see ya all at Lupos on Oct. 19th for Anthrax.

ANTHRAX, Headcase & Lacuna Coil Aug. 26, 2003
Webester Theater/Hartford, CT

How do ya make one of your worse summers better? Pick up a couple of friends and go see one of the best shows you've seen in awhile. I drove south 495 to Milford, Ma to pick up Grimmie(Chris) and his brother AJ for one hellava night in Hartford, CT to see ANTHRAX. God, I hate driving the pike. Anyways, when we finally made it down to the Webster Theater. Before heading in, we passed out a few flyers for the Sept. 21st show. What am I talking about? What Sept. 21st show? The one we're doin' at the Met Cafe to benefit the Station Fire Victims and Dr. Metal. If you haven't been to the Webster Theater, it's quite a different set up than most places. In away, it's a pretty good set-up. They have one door for 21+ and a different door for under 21. This way the under 21 stay out of the bar area. This place was packed. Great crowd. Well, the first band to go on was Headcase. E-Town Concrete left the bill. No big lost, I'm not a fan of theirs. Headcase is from New Britan, CT, if I remember correctly. A pretty good, heavy band. Next up was Lacuna Coil. This was my second time seeing this band. I think I would've enjoyed them more if some bimbo was acting so damn retarted, jumping around, completely drunk and yelling. It wasn't even like she was trying to sing along, she was just yelling. The other chicks, including myself, weren't doin' crap like that. I'm sorry, but these bimbos are one reason I limit the number of female friends I have. It was because of this chick I didn't fully enjoy Lacuna Coil. Saddly, the guy infront of me felt the same why as I did. And, that's coming from a guy. Oh well. After taking a quick breather, it was time for ANTHRAX!!! Grimmie and I stood a distance from the stage. I knew if I was up there and that chick was around.... enough said. I didn't want to be distracted. I'm so glad we made that choice. Grimmie says "this was the best Anthrax show by far." Everytime I see Anthrax they put on such a great show. This one was no different. My favorite part was they actually did "Be All, End All". I have never heard them do that live. It was awesome! Some of the other songs they played were, 'Black Dahlia', 'Only', 'N.F.L.', Metal Thrashing Mad', 'Bring the Noise' and 'Caught in the Mosh'. They did more songs, but what happened after the show, I kinda got caught up in and forgot the rest of the songs. The pits were insane. After the show was over, Grimmie, AJ and I were allowed backstage. We had a great time chatting with the other fans that were backstage. We had pix done with Charlie, John and the new guy Rob. I called him Paul at first, which I apologised for doin'. Because, during the show all I could think while watching the crowd go crazy, was, 'And to think Paul is on tour with Meatloaf." Paul was their touring guitarist during Vol.8. Rob was cool about the mistake. While chatting with John, I told him how I had watched my 'Trip Thru Red Times', Armored Saint video. He told me that I have to pick it up on DVD. More info and stuff. I'll have to pick up, huh? I think evryone should. Saint was a highly under-rated band that made some great music. You want to hear some amazing guitar work, Dave Pichard. Pick up any of their earlier albums and you'll see what I'm saying. Not to take anything away from Jeff Duncan. ANYWAYS, we were also introduced to John's lovely wife Tori. It just happened to be her birthday. I'm telling ya, these guys are the best. Very down to earth. The three guys autographed cds for the Sept. 21st show for me. (They'll be raffled off.) What a great way to finish a horrible summer. Thank you ANTHRAX! See ya all at OverKill, Sept. 12th. Jim's openning, go and support B.O.E.

NOTCOMMON PRESENTS : NOOSEBOMB, BANE OF EXISTENCE AND TRAUMA CONCEPT @ BILLS BAR

6.23.03

The show started at 9:30, a good amount of people came in right when
the doors opened at 9 and they all crowded up front for Noosebomb.
Noosebomb, who was playing with Mike from Bane of Existence on drums,
played a mix of slow and fast songs. Overall they are a mix of hardcore
and thrash, with some sludgy parts that mixed in elements of doom with
their raw punk/metak sound.

Bane of Existence was up next, with only a short time between them and
Noosebomb as they shared drummers for the night. These guys were extra
sick that night, especially their new song which I believe is called
'Thy Scars'. The bass had an extra crunch to it which makes Bane of
Existence all the better, mixed with their technicality and brutal vocals.
Their usual following of women were upfront moving around but not quite
as violent as I have seen them before.

Trauma Concept was on last that night, these guys were right on the
money. They play that kind of new school brutal metal (not to be confused
with cheesy nu-metal or metalcore). The drummer's double bass drums
were pretty sick, and even through the changing of a broken string these
guys knew how to keep the crowd's attention with an improv song about
masturbating (which Mike from BOE confessed to me really spoke to him).

CSDO/Exciter

June 20th- The Bombshelter.
Howdy metalheads! This past Friday, Chris's mom and sister(Jen) plus my friend Erica went to the Bombshelter in Manchester, NH to see CSDO/Exciter. We had such a blast. First band to preform was DuskRaven. This was my second time seeing these guys. Once again they were very impressive. Nice guys too. Sorry Josh, somehow I lost the set list. But hey, to hear their set, GO SEE THEM LIVE!
Next to go on was Screw from Hillsboro, NH. They were pretty damn good. I did seem to hold on to their set list. :) *Untitled*Broken*Open Fire*Power to the Lowlifes*Who's the Enemy*Coal Chamber's- Big Truck* and *Victim of the Player*.
CSDO was soon to follow. What new can I say about CSDO that I haven't said before. GO SEE THEM PLAY!!!!! They will kick you in the ass, slam you against a wall and bash your head in. They will make your hears bleed. That is how killer they are. Thanks Eric, Arrik and Dave. Oh, to Dave's wife... what the hell happened to our porn?!?! :) Shit. I almost forgot, the leadsinger of Exciter joined CSDO on stage to do J. Priest's 'Metal Gods'. AAAAaaahhhhhhhhh! It was amazing!
EXCITER! EXCITER! EXCITER!!!!!! There are no words that can express just how great these guys are. This was my third time seeing them and I'm still dumbfounded by them. You really need to see them in person to get even a hint to how great they are. The were great to talk with before their set as well as after. The leadsinger was nice enough to do pix with us four girls. We even got him in a CSDO shirt for a pic. Here's their set list.... *Fall Out-tape intro*The Dark Command*Vicitims of Sacrifice*Brutal Warning*Ritual Death*Heavy Metal Maniac*Black Witch*Rising of the Dead*Pounding Metal*Rain of Terror*Burn at the Stake*Rule with an Iron Fist*I am the Beast*Stand Up and Fight*Long Live the Load*and*Violence+Force* THANK YOU EXCITER!!!!
If you get a chance, take a trip out to the Bombshelter. It's a great club and the owner and staff are a bunch of great people. The four of us were treated great by all the staff and bands. Thank you Mrs. Grimes and Jen. I had a great time. Just to let ya know, Jen plays an awesome bass. She plays drums too, but I haven't had a chance to see her play yet. Keep an hear out for a video show called Freak show. It will be coming to you soon. They guys from the show and I are setting up at show, hoping for Aug. 30th.(Jim better play it!) I'll keep you updated.

Disengaged, Bane of Existence, Ravage and Gut (not the imaginary german band)

Jun 16,2003 - the middle east upstairs

Gut opened, they are a bluesy thrash band with touches of death metal and hardcore. The crowd loved them, people bouncing around and singing along. They played a 30 minute set, a good mix of fast thrashier songs and some slower more jam/bluesy type songs. Ravage, boston's favorite metal band, played second and the crowd went fucking nuts, as half the people came to see them. Everyone was singing along and shit. Their new drummer was awesome (he is also in cryptic warning) so they were right on the money. great mix of iron maiden, judas priest meets danzig. I would say those guys are probably ready to start headlining smaller clubs in boston Bane of Existence was 3rd, and if anyone has ever seen them on full sound system then you will know what I am talking about. It was basically a wall of noise, but not to the point were it was just indistinguishable noise because again quite a few people were singing along, mostly to the older songs from the red invasion split. Then of course, a pit broke out which was pretty fun. The girls ruled that one, especially Stephanie from ALL LOCAL and soundcheck Disengaged headlined because it was there CD release party (which sold pretty well I might add). There was still a good 50 people there past midnight to see them. their songs are a variety, ranging from in your face thrash songs, punk rock anthem songs and their 2 newest songs which are pretty epic (can't stop bleeding and the ocean).
The end of their set was the 90210 theme song which turned into madness on stage when the bassist kicked the guitarist into the singer who then repeatedly began jumping into the wall, then the guitarist threw his guitar into the bass drum (it went straight through it), the bassist dove into the drums, then the drummer nosedived over the drums and the bassist, onto one of the guitarists. always a fun time seeing disengaged.

CSDO

June 17, 2003
Lucky Dog Music Hall

Well hello metalheads. This past Monday night I drove into Worcester on fumes just to see CSDO in show. Although there weren't many people there, at all, it was still a fun show. The show that night was being video shot for the cable show 'Freak Show'. The gentlemen that do the show were very nice to chat with. Anyways the show.... the first band I got to see was Ukrainian Burger Harvest. Such a funny bunch of guys. Quite creative. I don't believe I've ever heard that many songs just on burgers alone. Here was how there set list went. *Wendy's and the Bar*Poserburger*Fat God Brand Burger Seizure*Monkey Burger*4 Basic Food Groups*Fast Food Brigade*Don't Touch My Burger*Crapper Burger(Grease as Lube)*Beefy Birthday*Burger Picnic(A tribute to G.G.Allin)*I Got A.I.D.S from a Burger King Milkshake*S.A.R.S. Burger*. These guys are great. Very MOD/SOD like. Go and see them!
Next was another interesting band. Guaranteed Katch. Two of the band members were dressed in '70's fashsion and one was dressed like a clown. YES, a clown. These guys were quite good. Yes, a clown... I'm not joking. : ) Here's how their list goes*Saggy Bread*Long n'Brown*Baron O' Beef*In Short Order*BleuPuff*Her Maphrodite Luv*Tryps*Laws of Elasticity*Nite to Dismember*Shaddap*Brown Town* and *Remain the Same*.
CSDO was last and saddly there bassist never showed up. But if any of you know Eric, you know that this won't stop him. I can't tell you the set list. But Eric and fill in drummer Arrik played a good set. I'm sure that this Friday at the Bombshelter things will work out better for CSDO.
As those of you know, most of the shows I go to I bring my friend Chris. Saddly, Chris and I lost his best friend Shawn(Shaggy). If any of you went to the CSDO/Nuc show at the 125 Club, Shaggy was there with Chris and I. He was a great guitarist but most of all he was a great person. It was very traggic and sad. Best him and his family in their time of need. I end this write up with Shaggy famous last words... "Anarchy Rules!!!" R.I.P Shawn.

anthrax, motorhead, havochate

May 9, 2003- Worcester, Ma
The Palladuim

After meeting up with Chris and his brother AJ(who's in the band Norseth, look for them), we made our way into Worcester. At the door we ran into Travis(CSDO, Distrust and whatever other band he's filling in for), his girlfriend and CSDO fill-in drummer Arrick. I went to the window to get my backstage passes. Instead of three, the girl gave me four, so I handed one off to Arrick. I got a drink for it. :)
The first band to come on was havochate . A very heavy sounding band that the crowd really got into. I was able to chat with the manager and the members of the band. Great bunch of guys and extremely funny too. They were nice enough to give me a set list. Check out their cd coming out in July. Their set went... *This Violent Earth*When God Dies*Vindication*Kill or be Killed*Cyclical Life*Right to Die* and *Years of Abhorrance*.
Next up was the band that I've been waiting a year and three months for.... ANTHRAX, ANTHRAX, ANTHRAX!!!! Ya should've known that was coming. They were amazing! Some of their songs were... *Only*Inside Out*N.F.L*Caught in the Mosh*Black Lodge*Bring the Noise*Metal Thrashing Mad*(Which John did an awesome job on.)*Anti Social* and a few new ones that kicked my ass... *Black Dahlia*What Doesn't Die*Nobody Knows Anything* and *Super Hero*. If I forgot one, I'm wicked sorry.
Soon it was time for Motorhead. Again they played a great show. Would you expect anything less? A few of the songs they played were... *RAMONES*Anarchy in the UK*Snake Bite Love* and of course *Ace of Spades*. With all the great songs, still they left out *Eat the Rich*. I'm still waiting from the Lupos show to hear it. :) How Lemmy can still get up there and sound so good.... God only knows.
After the show, the manager of havochate got Chris, AJ and I backstage quicker than what the staff was goin' to. Havochate asked us to come back in 15 min. So, we went down to the Anthrax dressing room, where I was suppose to go anyways. The only two members left were Chalie and Scott. We had pictures taken with the two and Scott let me stroke his goattee. There are some people who have said negative things about Scott but he was really nice to the three of us. Charlie is always nice to me, and whoever else might be in the room. I send a huge thank you to Charlie and Scott for the autographs, the pic and for always keeping metal loud! This show was one that Dr. Metal would've loved to have seen. I'm sure he was there but should've been there in person. Take care all. Hope to see ya at CSDO at Jarrod's May 30th.

Candy Striper Death Orgy, Dusk Raven, Resinate, GoreHammer, Red Right Hand @ the bomb shelter in Manchester, NH

Hey there boys and girls. It's been quite some time since my last write up. But, here it goes...
I traveled 495N to 93 into Manchester, NH to a club called The BombShelter. After having my id checked at the door it was great to find out CHICKS GET IN FREE! Can't complain about that. The BombShelter is one of the coolest looking clubs I've seen in awhile. Good choice of beer at the bar too.(Jim, ya gotta play there!)
Okay, first band to go to bat was Dusk Raven. A young band, but a pretty heavy one too. Their set list included the songs*The Dead will Die Again*When the Bullet Strikes*Scorched Earth Ploitics*Blinded by Fear*A Personal Hell*Wishing You were Dead*Into Battle* and *Raining Hell*. Check this band out.
Up on deck was the band Resinate. Another heavy band that desvres a listen too. The leadsinger was very approacbeble and pleasant to talk to, as were the other bands. not only were they nice enough to give me a set list, but they also handed me a cd. If you come across it, GIVE IT A LISTEN TO! It will make you ears bleed. Their set list consisted of *Anthem*Low Oxygen Flow*Forgivin through Vengeance*Dil Dozer*Swept Aside* and *Crushing*.
Next up to the plate at the BombShelter was a band from Burlington,VT was GoreHammer. Who also was nice enough to hand over a cd. Another, MUST LISTEN TO! Nate, the leadsinger was another pleasant person to chat with. I remember seeing him at Jarrod's but didn't know he was in such a massively heavy fast band. Their song went as followed... *Unconquerable*Hammer Rise*Blasphemy in Effiny*Drinking w/ the Devil*Onslaught of Impurity*Morbid Tales* and *Sadocatechism*.
The next band to play was my good friend Eric's band, Candy Striper Death Orgy. I can't say enough of this band. You want loud! You want Fast! You got it with CSDO! Their set was... *Holacaustic*WWW3*The Result*Nitro*Atomictivity*A.D.* and *K.Force*. If you haven't seen CSDO you get a chance May 30th at Jarrod's in N. Attleboro, MA.
The last band to play wasRed Right Hand . For some reason the bassist looked like Travis from CSDO. Oh wait, it was Travis. :) Red Right Hand is on the same lable as CDSO, Screaming Ferret Wreckords. They played a hard set. Their songs were... *Hate*Alibi*Black Magic*Machine*Good Day*Funk*Easy One* and *All about Me*.
If you get the time, have the gas, a little money and CSDO is playing. Take a trip north to Manchester, NH to the BombShelet to take in a show. It's a great little club. I hear the pizza is pretty good too. There is one sad note, former CSDO member Josh passed away. R.I.P. Josh. Hope to see ya at Anthrax and MotorHead May 9th if I don't see ya aMay 4th for the Metal Gods show.

NUCLEAR ASSAULT, CANDY STRIPER DEATH ORGY, RED RIGHT HAND & RESINATE CLUB 125 BRADFORD MA 2.10.03

On Jan. 10th I got the extreme(not that band from Boston) pleasure of seeing Nuc. Assualt for the 2nd or was it my 3rd time? Either way, IT WAS AN AWESOME SHOW!!! Oh hey! And Chris went with me. We brought his friend Shawn(Shaggy) with us. When we first got to the 125 Club, we were pretty stoked for the show. For one, Chris has never seen Nuc before. Also, I was getting a chance to see Eric Paone of CSDO playing bass as a fill-in for Red Right Hand. We walked thru the doors and said hello to Dave, Eric's friend, who was working the door. Than as I was waving to Tom and his girl, Joe, Jim's friend, scared the shit out of me by saying hello right in my face. Why do tall people have to do that to us short folk? I just don't know. Anyways, I was told that Eric was goin' to be late. I was a little too busy chatting with people and pay much attention to the first band, sorry guys. Finally, Eric showed up, and he soon hit the stage to play bass. He played pretty good. It was cool seeing him playing bass. I'm really not one for the band he filled in for, an other sorry. Travis is a cool guy though. Well, next up was Candy Striper Death Orgy. I can't really tell you the set list for any of the band because my job was to take pix, instead of working his table. No fault of mine.:) But, CSDO did play any awesome set. It was good to see Mike back behind the kit. Also, it was great to see Ben up there too. Too bad Stacey was unable to make it. She a nice girl and very fun to talk to. Unlike some chicks who think they're better than other girls because they know someone in the band. Also, she's not a loud mouth. Ok, I got that out of my system. Before Nuc took the stage, our friend Suzanne showed up. Looking as hot as ever. If any of you were there, the boots.... That's all I have to say. Watching Nuc on stage is diffenitly an expearince with in it's self. If you haven't seen them, YOU HAVE TOO BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!!! Oh, I bought Danny a shot and told him he was fired. See the SOD movie, 'Go Kill Yourself' you'll understand. I'm sure I got some great photoes of the band and will try to get Jim some doubles. It was all in all a great night. Shaggy, Chris and I had such a good time. See ya all at the Eletric Circus.

DIO, HAMMERFALL & KINGS X Dec. 14th, 2002-the Worcester Palladuim

Hello to all! It's been a while since I've last did a write up. Between money woes, legal troubles and just shit everyone one else goes thru, I haven't been to too many shows. And some shows I've been to, Jim would kick my ass if I wrote about it them. HEY, Sammy was a great show. :) Ok, ok, ok... by the help of Eric Paone's friend Chris, I was able to catch Dio in concert for the second time. I'm sooo glad I did. I didn't get to see HammerFall or King's X(who is actually pretty good). But Dio was awesome. He started the show with a new one, "Killing the Dragon". He played old favorites like 'Rock'n'Roll', 'Man on a Silver Mountain', and of course 'Holy Diver'. There was also a new one 'Push'. Simon Wright did a mean drum solo. You might remember him from his AC/DC days. Doug Aldridge(SP?) also played a great guitar solo. He was in the 80's band Lion. He's got that Randy Rhodes look and feel. What a great show. I was a little disappointed that he didn't do 'Sacred Heart', 'Rock'nRoll Children' or 'Hungery for Heaven', but that's okay, Dr. Metal played 'Sacred Heart' on the Metal Zone that same night. Ok, live would've been better, but hey ya can't have everything, right? OH, no my car wasn't towed away like at the last Dio show, thank the lord. :) See, I learned my leason on that one. :)Thanks to Chris D for taking me. Take care to all and Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!!! Including Jim

6-21-02 Jarrod's Place- North Attleboro

I wasn't planning on goin' to this show. But I had to make up for a show I was suppose to go to and hand out stuff for Jim. So, I adventured to Jarrod's by myself, because NO ONE WANTED TO GO WITH ME. Oh well, for them because they missed one hellva show. Not too many people showed up which was too bad for the bands that played. Like I said, it was one hellva a show. First at bat was Minds from Montreal. A very heavy band. I spoke to some of the other bands about their set, and they were blown away by them. I was quite impressed. I was able to talk with the leadsinger of the band, also with their mangement, and was able to get a cd as well as their setlist. I was able to get setlist for all the bands that played. Minds is very heavy metal. Their setlist went as follwed... Live it Up, Human World, Nemesis, Useless, Tortured, Make Belive, Face First, Openminded, and Crooked Edge.

MOTORHEAD & MORBID ANGEL

Lupos Providence R.I.

Did anyone know, that at night Providence doesn't check meters at night? Was I the last to know this??? :) Usually I only pay $5 to park behind the church, but for some reason they jacked the prices up, and I only brought $5 with me. Had to make a car payment the night before. Anyway, I made the trip to Lupos by myself. I stood outside during the first two acts to go on, passing out fliers for the Candy Striper Death Orgy show with Nuclear Assault. Took 85 with me, and got rid of all of them. Meets some pretty cool people while doin' it too. No one threw one away, in front of me at least. :) When I finally went in, I used my $5 to buy myself A Sam. I deserved it. Morbid Angel came on the stage and played hard. Since I didn't get the chance to see them with Pantara, I was glad I caught their act. I must admit that I don't own anything by them, but I will be picking some up. It didn't take much time for MotorHead to come on stage. They played a pretty new song, 'Just Because You Have the Power, Doesn't Mean You Have the Right'. If you can imagine what kind of song to put with the movement of a lion on the prawl, this would be the song. It was awesome! Lemmy paid great respect to Joey Ramone, by playing their song 'RAMONES' in memory of his death. I'm sorry, the Ramones are one of my favorites. The also played, for the punks in the crowd, 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols. The set was great! As an oncore they did, of course,'Ace of Spades' and....'OVERKILL'. I was in heaven. I love that song. I was hoping that they would play 'Eat the Rich' but they didn't. If your a true Motorhead fan, this won't disappoint you either, 'cause it didn't me, they DID NOT play 'The Game'! There was this fat, loud man behind me yelling "PLAY 'THE GAME'!!!!", all through the set. MAN, that was annoying. It wasn't like Triple H was goin' to come on stage if they did play it. :) The only part of the time I spent at Lupos was walking back to my car and having some scary guy that came out of nowhere, follow me until he saw a cop parked in front of me. Sometimes it's good to have cops around. SOMETIMES! Hope to see everyone at Nuke. Assault. And ManOwar. HEY, is anyone call to request Jim's band on the Metal Zone? Well, some one should be. Here's the number, 1-401-224-1994. If I'm wrong about the area code, sorry.

Slayer 1/26/02

Ya know, no matter how much you try to plan
things, they just don't work. Grimmie was late to meet
up with me, but when we finally got to Lupos the crowd
was lined up around the corner. We didn't get to see
Die Cast, but by the sound of the crowd they must've
gone over well. Not being the biggest Hate Breed fan,
they didn't cause me to walk out the door. It didn't
take long for SLAYER to hit the stage, and MAN did
they hit the stage. I've seen Slayer three times now.
The first two times were great, but this time they
kicked me in the ass and slammed my head into a wall.
Oh wait, that was Grimmie. (joking) Slayer was
awesome! Those who feel that Slayer is boring now(Jim)
if you were there the show would've brought you back
into their evil fold. I finally got to see Dave
Lambardo play. WOW! Is all I can say. The show was to
celebrate 15 years of the METAL ZONE on 94.1/HJY.
Grimmie and I had such a great time at the show.

Two Nights of Anthrax 2-13&14-02

Sounds like a tittle for a bad b movie, doesn't it???
That was far from the truth. First show was Feb.
13th, Ash Weds. at the Station in Warwick, RI. Once
Grimmie and I found the place, no thanks to Yahoo Maps
or Map Quest, we were set fora night of loud fast
music. The 7 Rail Crew was the first band of the
night. They were a decent band out of Boston. The
singer reminded me of a mix between Sid and Johnny
Rotten. I sure hope they were trying to be punk,
'cause that's what I got out of them. The next band
was the Step Kings. They're out of NY on Roadrunner
Records, I think. If I'm wrong, someone please correct
me. They were easy to get into. Their version of
'Another Brick in the Wall' was.... interesting. It
wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. Then it
was time for ANTHRAX. The wooden barrier didn't stand
a chance, that went down with in 15 seconds of the
first song,'Among the Living'. I think if John Bush
hadn't stopped the show, my leg would've gotten
broken. As the show began again, I was pushed into
the stage. Sure it hurt, but hey, every other song,
John kept asking if I was alright. Also,he kept
pouring water on my head to keep me cool. A big plus
was I got to sing the chorus of 'Anti Social' in the
mic. The awesome thing about Anthrax is you never tire
of hearing their songs. 'Bring the Noise' is a lot
heavier live. Their new song 'Super Hero' was great. I
can't wait for the new album. Charlie handed me one of
his sticks at the end of the show. I have no doubt
that the guys of Anthrax are the coolest. Anyways, a
lot of thanks to Anthrax and to Dr.Metal for the tix.
Grimmie and I did get seperated but found each
other,in one piece, at the end of the night.

Night two. Feb. 14th. Valentine's Day! Boston's
Orpheum Theater. The powers that be must've been
against me, or so I thought. Grimmie was more late
than usually. Lucky I love the guy to death, huh? When
we finally got to the show, Anthrax was on their last
song. They started early. I punched Grimmie for it. Do
Do ya blame me?? :) Anyways, Eric of CSDOwas there
too. We did some walking around before Judas Priest
came on stage. OH by the way, it was a Judas Priest
show, not just Anthrax. I bought my dad a shirt, and
Grimmie a hat. Which he better wear it every time I
see him considering how much I paid for it.(joking)
Judas Priest soon came on stage and what an amazing
show. But why is it I always get stuck behind the tall
guy or a fat guy who can't stop leaning over to tell
his friend "This show fuckin' rocks!" WHY??? Talk
about women who can't shut up. (joking guys.) I'll
tell you, Ripper Owens sound just like Halford. If you
closed your eyes you couldn't tell the difference. OH,
and watching Eric go crazy is quite a show in it's
self. :) For some reason the passes we had were not
honored. So, Grimmie,Eric, Dave and I stood in the
freezing cold to see if we could meet Anthrax. I
talked to one road, but that didn't help. Eric and
Dave left. I talked to another roadie and with in 5
mins. Charlie came off the bus. He took some pics with
us and signed autographs. He actually went back on the
bus to get John's autograph for me. Charlie also
signed my dad's shirt for me. I'm tell you, ANTHRAX
IS THE COOLEST!!!! AND, I didn't have to do any
"favors" for the passes or anything. So, I guess in
the end,I bet those powers that be. As for the guy in
the trench coat and the chick with him. You should
thank me for meeting them since I'm sure you tapping
on their bus window, and bending their cd in front of
the bus would've gotten you far. By the way for that
guy's info, Charlie is the drummer. John is the lead
singer. Maybe you should know who's who in a band
before you start bragging about meeting them.Hope to see all at CSDO/OverKill March 21st and
CSDO/D.R.I. April 4th. Both at Jarrod's Place in
Attleboro, MA. Check out CSDO.net for more info.
Also, listen to the Metal Zone on 94.1 WHJY Sunday
morning 12:00am-2:00am(late sat. night, however you
want to look at.) Call Dr.Metal and Request Bane of
Exsistence. He has their cd.

Megadeth...

10-12-01 Avalon, Boston

With all the craziness that's goin' on, how else can
one keep the sane in insane than with a Megadeth show.
Grimmie and I adventaged into Boston from Milford. I
had to talk him into it at first, but he went.
Outside of the show we ran into Eric(CSDO) and his
friend Dave. Although the show wasn't what I
expected... no '502', 'Mary Jane' or their covers of
'Anarchy', 'No More Mr. Nice Guy', and my favorite
'Boots', what was that all about... They did play 'My
Darkest Hour', 'Hook and Mouth', as well as a bunch of
other. The show was good. The show ended at 10:00pm,
what was that one about too? Theresa

Slayer, Pantera & Morbid Angel @ the worcester centrum
This past Sat. my best friend Chris (Grimie) and I
went to see the greatest show at the Centrum. PANTERA!
We missed Morbid Angel 'cause Grimie showed up late.
But I won't hold it against him. ANYWAYS....Scrape
was already playing. Their set went off well. Next was
Static-X. I'm not the biggest fan of them, but it was
my second time seeing them and they played a decent
set. Before Slayer came on, and this is for the guys,
Grimie knelt down to take a rest. I tapped him on the
head and he looked up at me as if to say "what?" I
took his head and smothered his face in my breast. Jim
knows that I don't have very small breasts at all.
Plus, I'm sure Jim would've appreciate that one. This
guy behind Grimie gave me a big huge smile and nod.
Chris was smiling too. What guy wouldn't? :) Soon
Slayer came on. WOW!!!!! They were AWESOME!!!!! They
played a few new ones. But the old faves came out.
"South of Heaven" and my fave "Angel of Death" were
great. OH, if that was Jody G. in the pit. You
shouldn't have been, since you don't know ANY Slayer
music. Hope someone took him out. :) The wait for what
we all were waiting for wasn't long. Pantera, what can
I say. Fire, loud music, and head banging. Best
Saturday night I've had in the last month. Sully and
Tommy from GodSmack joined the guys on stage for "This
Love". Should they have??? I don't know, depends if
you like them. :) I believe they did at least one song
from each album. My Fave, "Cowboys From Hell" was the
best. If you missed the show....ERIC..... you missed a
good one. OH, my car wasn't towed this time. HA!

FEAR FACTORY @ THE PALLADIUM 2.9.01

Feb. 9th, my brother Tom, best friend Chris(Grimmie), my roomies niece Ashly, and I went to see Fear Factory. They put on such a kick ass show. It was Ashly's first concert, she usually listens to that band IN SUCK, she had a blast!!! Jim missed one hell of a show!!!!!!!!! Fear Factory played some old stuff, but also played some new stuff that brought the roof down. The new album is goin' to be a must to pick up. Well, that's it. Hope to see everyone at Jarrod's Place, March 24th for OverKill and CSDO...... Theresa

DYING FETUS, ALL OUT WAR, DICAST 100 DEMONS, ETERNAL SUFFERING and BLISTERED EARTH @ THE PALLADIUM 1.12.01

Lowell based BLISTERED EARTH was the first band to take the stage in this event of death metal and hardcore mixed show, B.E. is a great thrash metal band whose sound is derived from the great 80's thrash sounding bands like "old" metallica and testament and if you are a fan of those style bands then B.E. are clearly for you these guys are 100 and 10% thrash metal to the max and do it extremely well johns voice crisp and clear and the bands solid and tight sound just demands for you to take notice to them when they are playing even when the power went out (something the palladium has been plagued with for a very long time HELLO hire and electrician and fix that dame circuit box) so despite the fact that they lost a few min to a power outage BLISTERED EARTH pounded through their set to a very good size crowd and are clearly a band to keep an eye on in the future!

The next band to take the stage is the South Shore death grind godz ETERNAL SUFFERING! But what's this Wayne their long time singer is not there in his place is the guitarist from the E.S. side project EJACULATED WHORE! The lights go down and E.S. begin to play their set the guitars were a little on the low side from where I was at and things seemed a tad bit off timing, the new singers voice was much deeper than Wayne's none the less it still packs the same level of brutality that you have come to expect from E.S. despite the poor sound coming from the house speakers, after the first song is complete they tell the sound people what they need in the monitors and ect. and begin to play their next song. Playing stuff from there cd. the awesome "DROWNING IN TRAGEDY" on Extremities productions (a must have for all self respecting death heads) as well as some great sounding new tunes that will be on their next cd.which is going to be released on Roger from MORTICIAN'S new label after ETERNAL SUFFERING were 100 DEMONS, DIECAST and ALL OUT WAR (3 pretty cool hardcore bands however this is a metal page so I'll stick to that here)

DYING FETUS!!! Yes it's true Jason N. has left and his departure has brought fourth many mixed feelings about how they will sound with a new singer this being the 3rd show with his fill in they seemed a little rough not as tight as they were when I saw them last month to me his voice was pretty close to Jason's a tad bit more trebly, but to me and a few people it seemed a little off and he seemed to look a little out of place with them but he did ok and he's a dam good front man although he could use a little work with it. Musically they were right on played all the songs they usually do as well as some they don't normally play live it was a good set and hopefully D.F. will come out of this lineup change ok.

Unfortunately the show was infested with hardcore punks doing the usual hardcore trouble making (headhunting) thankfully it was mostly during the 3 hardcore bands sets however a kid was hurt bad and taken to the hospital, it also turned out that the BIG man that hurt this little guy who was just watching the bands play punched a show security guard in the face and ran out the door before he could be brought up on assault charges for singling out this kid and crushing him to the ground besides this it was a pretty ok show. J

DIO, MALMSTEEN AND DORO @ THE WORCHESTER PALLADIUM 12.8.00

A few weeks ago, on Dec. 8th, at the Palliduim in Worcester, my best friend Chris and I went to see Dio/Doro/Yngwie Malmsteen. The Palliduim was so packed, you could hardly move around. First to go on stage was Doro Pesch. Through the 80's she lead the band Warlock, which she did some songs from mixed with her solo works. She put on a great show, the best part was when she did her version of Billy Idol's 'White Wedding'. Next to go on stage was Yngwie. To tell the truth, I'm not a big fan of him and I don't know much of his music. But, he did put on quite a show. Finally, Dio took the stage and it was awesome! This was my first time seeing Dio and I'm glad I spent $46 for both tix. He did classics like 'Rainbow in the Dark', 'Ship of Fools' and 'Man on the Silver Mountain'. Also he did a few newer songs that I didn't know. Although I was hoping to hear 'Rock'n'Roll Children' (call me an 80's child) I was not disappointed. It was an unbelievable night. Chris and I even ran into Eric of Candy Striper Death Orgy.(What a great guy.) It was cool seeing him. The only downfall of the night was having my car towed and paying $95 to get it out. Don't ever park in the lot next to Ace Hardware, eventhough it saying parking and there are other cars parked in the lot too. My car was not the only one towed either. see ya at the shows..... Theresa

GORE WHORE FEST 11.4..00

First up was BEYOND THE SIXTH SEAL who were originally supposed to be the second band for this show however the first band (Virulence)cancled at the last min. B.T.S.S. a very cool local metal band with a very european sound and style reminiscent of DISSECTION , DISMEMBER and AT THE GATES ! B.T.S.S. 's set started of a little sluggish due to a bad drum monitor sound and a feeding back lead vocal mic. however B.T.S.S. over came theses problems and played on despite them. I feel they were great despite the few minor sound problems and can't wait to see them again B.T.S.S. is a band defiantly worth keeping an eye on! next on was EVIL ENDS this is my third time seeing this band and they always rock as they again did today they even seemed a little heavier than usual which i liked a lot! they raged through their set most notably my favorite song by them is the song "PEOPLE SUCK" and they also did a great cover of the JUDAS PRIEST classic "BREAKING THE LAW"! ok my band BANE OF EXISTENCE was next so i'm gonna go to the band that followed us which i believe was TWYTCH they were pretty cool got that whole PANTERA hardcore/thrash sound going they played a tight and raging set and also few PANTERA covers the crowd liked em I think they were pretty cool too!! AHHH YES! BLISTERED EARTH (why they weren't the headliner is beyond me) opened with an awesome METALLICA cover (one of the ones when that band was actually good and not some cheesy alternative band which metallica have now become ) B.E. plowed throughout there set of classic old style thrash the way it was done back in the late 80's singer John commanded the stage in true metal style pumping the crowd for sing alongs and such while the band tore through the songs like a runaway train right up to the classic METALLICA cover "CREEPING DEATH"(my all time favorite metallica song) this band is truly going places keep an eye out on these boys cause I have a gut feeling about them and it's a good feeling too! it was a pleasure sharing the stage with then again!! ACEPHALUS was defiantly not at their full potential today! I've seen these guys a few times and know that they can do a lot better than what i saw them do Sat! they are one of my favorite local bands I dig there stuff allot and can honestly say I was a little let down, but hey it's metal and metal people like to indulge a little but in my eyes it would be better to indulge after you play that way you won't let the fans (like me) down and you play your best and everyone will be happy especially the fans. i'm not gonna go into all the crap that followed the set as I would rather focus on the bands and there music GORATORY came on with all guns blazing (isn't that a judas priest song? oh well)and pissed off because their set was a little delayed however they over came it and gave a great set of brutal death metal with a duel vocal assault that'll rip you a new asshole and leaving you begging for more !!!I didn't get to watch too much of their set as I was moving my shit to our car but from what I heard they were great and can't wait to see them open for SKINLESS and DYING FETUS at THE PALLADIUM..... J
