It was a relatively peaceful time in the city of Traga. Although the many countries, such as the United States, Russia, and Japan, were living peacefully, they were waging a war against terrorists, who have struck more and more over the past few years. In all, over 100,000 people have been killed thus far. However, the citizens of the various countries have tried to live normally, allowing the government and military to take care of the terrorists, hopefully.
"Whoa! Geez! Watch it!" Robert yelled out at the driver of a truck that sped past him, "He's gotta be doing at least over 90!"
For Robert Caon, life was hectic. He thought if he retired from the military then maybe he could get some peace. Too bad his dad HAD to leave him the recreation center near Mocra High School. Now he gets to deal with screaming toddlers for 10 hours every day. Rob started to feel depressed, but then smiled again when he remembered their faces when he would play with them. They were faces of pure happiness. When he thought of that, all he could do was smile. Then another speeding car whizzed past him and almost made him crash.
"Just great. Perfect," Robert said, turning off the highway into an exit.
After driving another 20 minutes, he finally reached his house. Luckily, there weren't any crazy drivers the rest of the way. After parking his SUV into the garage, Robert got out and went into his house, a very nice 3-floor white house with a dying garden in front of it. A result of working at the rec center. After getting into the house, he threw his brown leather jacket onto the couch, took off his light blue shirt and put on a dark blue T-shirt. He sat down on the couch, grabbed the remote, and turned on the news. On the news was another report of a terrorist bombing. This time in India. The Taj Mahal was the target, and was almost completely destroyed. Robert felt helpless. Even though he could easily beat any human on Earth, despite his non-muscular physique, he didn't know who the terrorists were or where they would strike. Even with all the special equipment he had, nothing could track down these guys. Depressed about hearing more death, Rob turned off the TV and went out for a walk.
"I've never seen anything like it, have you?" the worker said to the pailentologist.
"No, it's simply amazing!" the doctor of palientology said.
"Dr. Gaca, what does it say?"
"Well, it's a little faded, but I believe it says 'Beware any who come across this place. Leave now, or a powerful evil will be awakened. You have been warned.'" Dr. Gaca read.
The two looked at the large, stone slate. They had been digging for ancient fossils of dinosaurs when they accidentally found this strange room. The closest structure to it was the old castle about 20 miles away. Both the doctor and the digger had no idea what kind of "evil" was in there.
"Do you think we should go in?" the digger said, looking at the room.
"Yes, I have to see what is in there." Dr. Gaca said.
The digger went out to get his friends so they could go in there. They brought a large, mechanical driller down and within minutes, the stone wall was gone. Inside was not what Dr. Gaca was hoping for. All it had was a large statue of what looked like a large cat-like creature with wings. It had the biggest claws and teeth that Dr. Gaca ever saw. The statue itself was well over 8 feet tall, and it looked remarkably detailed. Upon further analysis, Dr. Gaca saw that the statue had not eroded one bit, unlike the outside temple. The statue looked like it was in pain. Then the doctor noticed a slip of paper, almost completely rotten, on the floor next to the statue. He picked it up and read it.
"I have successfully restrained the horrid beast from outer space. However, too much damage has been casued. If not for the Arkana Force, we would not have won. I am entrusted with keeping their power ready in case he strikes again, which I hope will never happen."
Dr. Gaca remembered vaguely hearing about this "Arkana Force" in the castle. Evidentally, they were ancient heroes with amazing powers that were given to them by the space god Sekai. He suddenly realized that this must have been the beast they imprisoned, and suddenly grew very scared. Just then, he noticed one hand starting to move. The drillers saw this as well, and couldn't believe it. The statue's fingers tried to form a fist, but could not. One of the drillers stood up and dropped his pick axe, which shattered a small tablet with the engraving looking like the statue. Just then, the stone wings shattered and became brown. The fingers reached more inward now. Its legs were moving closer together. The arms were moving on their own too. Then suddenly, the hand made the fist and rock shattered and exploded all around the creature. Dr. Gaca covered his face, and when he looked up, a huge, barbaric beast with reddish-orange skin, battle scars all over its arms & chest, and a chest that looked like a tiger's combined with a human's. Its wings almost reached the entire length of the room. It stood on its toes, and when it's eyes opened, the pure black eyes saw the humans and smiled.
"So, you are the idiots who released me. After centuries of being imprisoned, slowly working my evil around the world, I am finally free! As for you, I suppose I should thank you." the beast growled.
"Who...Who are....you?" Dr. Gaca stammered, scared out of his wits.
"Me? The name is Kagai. Now for your reward." Kagai said, holding out his arm, palm open, forming a ball of blood red energy. Dr. Gaca and the drillers tried to escape, but they didn't get 10 feet before Kagai fired the energy ball. It expanded and destroyed everything in a 3-mile radius. When the blast cleared, Kagai was in the air, smiling at the five skeletons lying on the ground, with everything that was in the blast reduced to a smoking heap. Kagai then made a serious look as it sensed a particular aura. It was very faint, but he knew exactly what it was. Immediately he sped off to Traga City.
"God damn! I never thought there were so many crazy people around here! First some guy tries to beat me up with a Nerf bat, and then a homeless guy tries to steal my shoes. And I thought those terrorists were crazy."
Robert has had a very bad day. He was starting to think he would never get any peace. He went inside his home was going to soak in a hot bath. Just then, he felt something. Rob turned around and saw a bright glow coming from the trophy room. He opened the door and was horrified. There, five small, yellow, orbs, each with a different animal spirit inside, blinked brightly. The one in the middle glowed the brigtest. Robert knew what this meant. His dad taught him. A powerful evil had arisen, and now he's got to get the orbs to the chosen ones. One of them he already knew. He had been friends with the children chosen for over 15 years, ever since the "incident" occured. Quickly, he put all five orbs into a small box, put his jacket back on, ran out to his car, and sped away.
"Damn my luck is horrible."
Meanwhile, at one house in the middle of the suburbs, one family had just settled down for dinner.
"What's for dinner, hon?" William said, getting some soda.
"Chicken and macaroni and cheese" Julia said, sitrring the chicken and macaroni.
"Arg! Not again!" Matthew Reilavac said, getting whooped again in Pokémon Stadium. Even with the mighty Mewtwo, for some reason all of the computer's one-hit KOs kept hitting. This was getting annoying.
"Still getting your butt whooped?" Samantha asked, combing her short, brown hair.
Matt didn't look at his sister. He had brown hair like his sister, but he liked it really short, so that he wouldn't have to visit the barber shop so often. One of his favorite hobbies was playing video games, even though he rarely beat them. Even though he was taking karate lessons with his friend Robert, he still voiced his anger whenever he felt like it. Now was one of those times. Samantha was very similar to her brother. She had long, brown hair that flowed and was easy to manage. She was the average height for her age of 14, unlike Matt, who was 18 and just as tall as she was. She was more into reading and playing with animals than playing video games.
"Oh, we're out of milk. Matthew, can you go out to the store and get some?" Julia asked.
"OK Mom." Matt said, too angry to continue playing. He put on his watch and school ring, on the index finger of course, got some money from his Mom, and went outside.
Matt lived a nice life. He was about to graduate high school this year, and was going to start college in a few years, after getting some money. He was well-known at school, even if he didn't play on any sports and was a little shy. He went to one of those schools where, if you were part of the class, you were popular. Samantha was about 3 grades below him. She really hated school, like Matt, and loved the vacations. Juliae had long, blonde hair and tried hard to be close to both of her children. Her husband, Will, was a writer for a magazine, so he often stayed home. He enjoyed spending time with his long-time friend Robert and his son. Not much could faze him. Not even these terrorist attacks.
"Here Dodger!" Matt yelled out. Out of the dog house came a golden retriever. He immediately ran up to Matt and started licking his face as if he was gonna die.
"Come on boy! We're going to the store!" Matt said, attaching the leash to Dodger, and running to the local corner store. Matt had had Dodger since he was only five. Even now, Dodger was still in tip top shape.
The store wasn't far away from his house, only about a block. He tied the leash around a nearby street light and went in. He quickly got the quart of milk and a Crunch bar, and went to the counter. There he saw his friends, Justin Giup and Eric Fatsdnarg, getting some comics.
"Justin! Eric! Sup?" Matt asked his friends, who were getting the latest copies of X-Men and Batman.
"Nothing much, just getting something to read." Justin said, flipping through Batman.
"Why are you getting Batman? Marvel's much better." Eric said, showing off his comic, "At least the X-Men have super-cool powers unlike Batty who has his 'Bat-Novel' since you're so bored reading the comic!"
"Eric, you just like flash and action. For you, no story at all wouldn't be needed." Justin replied.
"Uh huh. Right. At least I'm not a Jew reading a boring comic!" Eric said, sticking his tougne out.(Author's Note: This isn't an insult to the Jewish. The guy this is based on is Spanish, yet looks Jewish, so we tease him about it and he gets mad. So, this is NOT meant to be offensive to Jewish people. Thank you.)
Matt quickly paid for the milk and candy bar and left. Justin was intelligent, but liked to joke around. However, that was one joke he hated. He was a combination of Puerto Rican and European heritage, but one day Eric said he looked Jewish, with his curly black hair, pale face and lots of freckles. Eric, meanwhile, had spiky blonde hair that reached his nose. He loved to make jokes, even if they weren't funny. He was also rarely serious about anything, and is a major slacker, even more so than Matt.
Just his luck. Robert was in a traffic jam on the freeway. His exit was close, but traffic was moving about an inch per hour and there was no way his car could get out. This stupid jam had wasted about 20 minutes of his time. He then saw something in his mirror that shocked him. A large, flying, monster sped towards the middle of downtown, where Matthew and Sara lived. Robert had to get over there fast. Otherwise, his friends would die.
Matthew, meanwhile, had finally gotten out of the store and was headng home. He untied Dodger, who was barking about something in the sky. He looked up and saw the flying beast heading for his neighborhood. For some reason, he had a gut feeling that the thing wasn't friendly. Afraid for his family, he ran to help them.
Kagai hovered above the small household and smirked. So, this is where the "leader" lives. Well, it's obvious that the Guardian hasn't been here yet, so I might as well end this here and now he thought. Raising his hand, then pointing it at the house, Kagai released a powerful energy beam that rocketed toward the household. When it hit, a large explosion occured, with a huge column of light energy rocketed up. Several other homes in the surrounding area were also caught in the blast.
Matt stopped in his tracks, as did Dodger. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. That beast-thing just killed his family. The smoke was everywhere, and the nearby homes were now smoldering heaps of rubble. Matthew just stood there, shocked beyond belief, tears welling up in his eyes. He then fell to his knees while Dodger nudged him. He couldn't believe it. His mother, father, and sister were all dead.
