Digimon Quest Prolouge
Everything was at peace in the Digital World. However, an unknown evil is approaching. Of course, you already guessed this, or else this fanfic would be boring. Anyway, in a faraway cave, two old Digimon are looking over the ancient prophecy they have had since the Digital World was created so long ago. One Digimon was covered in white fur, and had a large, wooden cane with him. His wife was old as well, had her hair in a bun, dressed in a kimono, and had two pins in her bun.
"Has the Chosen One gotten his Digimon partner yet?" the old, furry one asked.
"No. But he will soon." the old woman said.
This really began to worry the old man Digimon.
"He must get his Digimon soon. We have to train him for the battle of his life. Only he can defeat the World of Darkness. Without him, we will all die." he said, looking outside the cave and out to the peaceful world before him. Things had been so peaceful, and now there was going to be trouble. Trouble that is more powerful than all of the current Digidestined combined. They needed to be ready.
"The prophecy said that in times of dire need, the miracles will energize and destroy the evil. The golden light will radiate throughout both the Digital World and the Real World, and the new god will ascend all other Digimon." The old woman said.
"I hope so. Only this Digimon, who is more powerful than all the other Digimon combined, can defeat this evil. I just hope he can handle all that power being thrown at him." the old man said.
Both Digimon looked at each other in worry. The evil was coming, and even if the thousands of Digidestined around the world united, they still wouldn't stand a chance. Their only hope was a miracle...of sorts.
Meanwhile, in the real world, a seemily-normal passanger airplane was carrying two special passangers. One was a human, almost 20, with her brown hair tied in a ponytail and two bangs hanging off her ears. She wore a loose, dark orange, long-sleeve shirt and tight jeans along with tough, leather boots. She held up a small device, a gray machine with three blue buttons and a small LCD screen that displayed the current time. With her was a small cat, but was unlike any cat in the real world. This one had two large fangs hanging out the side of her mouth, as well as dark brown fur with black stripes. She cuddled with her partner, who looked very worried.
"Don't worry, I'm sure Scott will help you out." the small cat said.
"Sorry buddy. We can't go to Scott. The only reason we are heading for New York is because that creep said that was where his targets were. We have to go there to stop them from becoming Digidestined. If they don't, then he won't hurt them. Once they are safe, we can take him on ourselves, alone, somehow." she said, remembering the old times, how painful they were.
"Hey, we can't stop them from being Digidestined, Sarah. They were chosen before this even occured. We have to protect them." the Digimon said.
"Right." Sarah said, not really listening to her partner. She was remembering that fateful day when her worst nightmare happened.
"I know what you're thinking. I'm sure Takiro wouldn't want to see you moping around like this. You gotta cheer up." the Digimon said.
Sarah turned to the cat, and knew she was right. She smiled and petted her partner. However, she wasn't feeling much better. She hasn't felt good about herself ever since that day. Thinking about all that has happened to her, back against Flaremon and recently, when her nightmares started occuring, she started to cry. She couldn't believe it. She was almost a legal adult and yet she has yet to get over something that happened over a decade ago, even if it was horrifying. She quickly stifled her tears and turned to her Digimon.
"Come on, let's get some sleep." Sarah said.
"Good idea, but first, let's eat." the Digimon said as the stewardess was coming by with dinner.
Sarah just smiled, and though about what had happened in the past few weeks. Her gut feeling knew she would need these new guys to help out with this evil, but she wanted to tackle this by herself, thus not getting anyone injured or killed, especially her Digimon and Scott.
Then, as the stewardess gave her her meal, she let her Digimon eat it up, not feeling too hungry. She tried to grab something hanging around her neck, but it wasn't there, and almost started to cry once again.
