All About Me

Well, ever since you've been coming here, I bet you're all DYING to know who I am, right? RIGHT!? Well, this is where you can find out all about me. :) It ain't much right now, but as I get more time, I'll add to it, probably, maybe. Most of this is basically the same from Toonami Absolution.

Name: Matthew "Duke" Cavalier (Yes, it's the same as the car. I know already. :Ţ)

Age: Depends on the year, though currently I'm a teenager.

Grade in school: I'm a Senior in High School now. Movin' on up. ^_^

Place of Location: Good 'ol Baltimore, Maryland! Home of crab cakes, the first ESPN Zone, Harborplace, & the O's & Ravens! :)

Favorite Food: Umm, probably seasoned cheese fries. Yumm! Or just about any junk food. Hehe.

Favorite Game System: Game Boy Advanced. All the best of Game Boy & SNES & NES rolled into one.

Least Favorite Game System: Probably the Playstation 2.

Favorite Video Game: Probably Pokémon Gold/Silver. I don't have a clear favorite. The two Zelda: Oracles games are pretty cool too.

Least Favorite Game: Probably Crash Bandicoot or Tomb Raider. No, Tomb Raider, by far. Crappy controls & gameplay, it only has the mascot going for it.

Top 5 Pokémon: Blastoise, Scizor, Elekid, Houndoom, Donphan

Favorite Toonami Show: Umm. Probably any Gundam series. Though I also like just about every Toonami Show, even ThunderCats & Batman & Powerpuff Girls!

Favorite Non-Toonami Animated Show: Futurama by far. It improves on the Simpsons & never gets old. Futurama=Roolz! I also like to watch The Simpsons, Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack, Big Guy & Rusty, and Invader Zim.

Favorite Non-Animated show: I used to like Martial Law, but they cancelled it. A lot of my favs are cancelled now. I'd probably have to pick The Daily Show or Jimminy Glick. They rule! I also like Becker, Weakest Link, Sports Night, The Drew Carey and Who's Line is it Anyway? (Both versions. Ryan, Wayne and Collin rule!)

Least favorite Toonami show: Umm, probably Johnny Quest. -.-'

Least Favorite Animated Show: Beast Machines. That thing is so stupid it ain't funny.

Least Favorite Non-Animated Show: Power Rangers. Any version except for the pre-White Ranger times.

Part of my site that I love updating: News

Part of my site that I hate updating: The actual chapters. Not only writing them, but transferring them to the web.

Thing that is cool about this site: I get to express my feelings & debate about it with everyone else & tell them that I'm right, they're wrong.

Thing that sucks about this site: No money to get Digital Camera, HP Scanner won't hook up with HP Computer. Don't ask. Anyway, that's why the layout sucks so much.

Favorite Music: Uhh, whatever's on the radio. ^_^

Least Favorite Music: Gangsta Rap.

Favorite Bands: 3 Doors Down, Barenaked Ladies, Aerosmith, & Smash Mouth.

Least Favorite: N'Sync & Backstreet Boys. I'm also not a big fan of 9 Days or 98 Degrees.

Favorite Real-Life babe: Umm. Kelly Hu. Beauty and can kick-ass.

OK, enough favorites. Oy. Too many. I think I gave TOO much away. Anyway, I guess you want details. Well, I have always wanted to be a sports broadcaster. Serious. When I was in elementary school, I always called plays inside my head with the announcer on TV. I would actually play the sports, but I suck at all of them besides Kickball and I am a slow runner. -.-' I am getting better at Basketball, but not much. Back to the bio. Yea, I want to be a broadcaster, preferably either baseball or football, and more preferably for the O's or Ravens. Unfortunately, I'm really lazy, which doesn't translate to getting major school reports done which result in 1/4 of my grades getting slashed. ::Sigh:: I'm lazy by nature. Perfect day is sitting in a recliner and watching TV, although that rarely happens, mainly because that since I've been able to walk, I've been pacing. I get ancy really quickly, and even if I'm dead tired, I'll start pacing. o.o Everyone's got quirks ya know.

I've had many different online relationships that helped me get where I am today. (Not THOSE kind!) I rarely went into chat rooms since Nintendo closed their AOL site and Antagonist's N64 Chat was a regular riot (same for the other chats there too.) so there wasn't a lot of chatting for me. Instead, I browsed websites, which I still do today. Anyway, I decided to chat one time late at night a few years ago and met this one guy, Ditto Alex. He offered a free newsletter, called Cool Kids News. I decided to join, since it sounded pretty cool. :) Anyway, I soon joined up with the newsletter staff (Read: me and Alex) and wrote video game reviews. That's when he asked me to make my first website. It wasn't much, just saying what was in the latest newsletter, a marquee and a Mario pic. I made it using AOL Personal Publisher 2, which wasn't that bad, you just couldn't update till 2 AM. Certainly a lot better than AOL Hotdog. >:( Alex went on a vacation for a few weeks, and the newsletter started to dissolve and was never reborn. -.-'

Then, during that summer, I met the one guy who would start a cycle that would change my life. That man was TSWolf. He showed up in the N64 Chat at around 2-3AM, when I was in there as well. He was advertising this N64 site called "N64 Blast Corps" that wasn't about that game only. I liked it, and gave him a few suggestions, based on what I saw on other sites, on how to change it. Eventually I was hired and became VP. (It seems I always get to be VP whenever I'm hired. o.o) TS & I worked on Blast Corps a lot, and eventually decided on a name change so people wouldn't be confused as to what the site was about. He came up with Thunderstrike. We managed to get onto Simplenet and started TStrike. The video game section was good, but wasn't the main focus, which eventually became this Mega Man fanfiction TS was writing and an NES ROM site, which got over 5,000 hits a day. However, it wouldn't last. The bandwith limit was cutting down our access, and eventually ThunderStrike was shut down, because Simplenet couldn't handle it. TS moved on to join the Nexus Battle Network, and I visited many sites. We still talk to each other once in a while, but TS has much time devoted to various battle networks. Around this time, Pokémon had just hit the US. I became obsessed almost immediately (I do that.) and visited the next site in the cycle that changed my life: The Pallet Gym.

I immediately bookmarked the Gym, then known as Josh's Pokémon Page, and kept coming back every day. One intresting button he had was called "Pallet Sim" arena, or something like that. I'm sure Josh remembers it. Anyway, it was a message board like sim, but I had arrived too late to enter. However, there was a link to another message board sim, one that never got off the ground. I was about to stop coming when I saw a link put there by someone about a better Pokémon RPG. I then visited Diesel's Pokémon RPG, which sucked, but I was introduced to many people then. While the VP, Meaga, and I didn't exactly get off to the right foot, I made friends with one of the other RPGers named Tubbby. It was the first chat-based RPG I had ever been to, and I was not getting the hang of it. Then Tubbby decided to take a few members from Diesel's RPG and make their own Pokémon one, called Pokémon Challenge. That was when I met two friends for life, Son Gokou (Then known as Zero) and CRTrasher (Now known as Spiller). Tubbby disappeared for a while, leaving CRT in charge. I was in a chat with them when suddenly, the topic switched to Mega Man. They told me of the Mega Man RPG they belonged to, and soon enough I joined as my lifetime character, Proto Man. There I met several friends such as Pyro (webmaster of And Then), Raver (who was one of the few RPGers who DIDN'T live in Florida), Greg (we call him Gerg), Adam (who was one of Greg's best friends.), and I forged a friendship with Meaga. I quickly got up through the ranks, although I never reached the top. I was that guy who was powerful, but not as powerful as the main character, yet still more powerful than most everyone else. Eventually the site master, Gokou, decided to remake his Dragon Ball Z and Pokémon RPGs. I joined the DBZ one as Piccolo and did very well, becoming just as powerful as the Saiyans. In Pokémon, I joined as a made-up trainer named Duke. I was one of the few guys in the RPGs to actually make up a totally new character, and I based it off the Jr. Trainer from Red/Blue. I had a choice of three color schemes: puke, Pepsi, or Coke. I chose Coke since Coke kicks Pepsi's ass. Anyway, I was soon appointed updater of GT, and became the guy who trained everyone. That was really tiring on the system. I also won the Pokémon School badge (the one Ash & Joy tried to get in the anime) and put up pretty powerful Pokémon, only to lose to that damn Nidoboy and his Nidorino.

Things were going swimmingly, somewhat. Gold/Silver GT failed because we knew nothing about Gold/Silver except for a few towns, because Goku had a Japanese ROM. DBZ Dojo was retired because of redundancy. We fought every major bad guy 5 times. Then Goku decided to do something different, create an RPG based off of every RPG out there. I was Geno, from Super Mario RPG, since I hadn't played many of them at first. Anyway, the RPG eventually failed due to lack of intrest. DBZ & Pokémon were revived, but eventually failed once again. We're hoping to revive them when AndThen gets hot. Anyway, shortly after the GT2 disaster, Josh opened up a Fan Fiction section in his page. I had the ideas for A New Journey in my head for a while now (Read inspirations) and decided to submit the fic to Josh. I got a Gold Coin on the page, which meant "Great Fanfic!" Needless to say, I was happy. Around Chapter 3, Geocities cancelled Josh's page. It took a few weeks, but I eventually found it again on Cheatplanet. I continued to submit chapters to A New Journey until Cheatplanet cut off the lifespan a few months. From that site I found some of my other frequently visited sites, such as DMG Ice, The Nolans, and Jackie's Fridge.

Around as I was finishing Chapter 17, I first found Toonami: The Unofficial. I was hooked on Toonami, and instantly bookmarked the site as fast as I did Josh's page. From there, I went to CNX, then called CN2, and Toonami: Micellaneous, which fused with Toonami Basement to become the Digital Arsenal. I was inspired to make a Toonami site. Using HTML skills I gained from Gokou and Pyro, I made my first Toonami site: Toonami: Absolution. Unfortunately, it was basically Toonami: The Unofficial since it was on AOL HotDog. I moved to Angelfire and set up what was to be my biggest website ever. I poured hours and hours writing up everything on there, all the while "borrowing" pictures from different sites. I had gained a loyal following, and the site started to pick up steam. I got most of my hits from the CNX Alliance and Yahoo. After my first year, I decided to change the layout into a frames layout. I had used the buttons from DBZ Info Site as a template for my buttons, including the TOM heads. The site flourished even more. Then, IT happened.

I had just written up some movie reviews and Gundam Model reviews for my upcoming Special section, but when I clicked "Log On," Angelfire said it was not found. I tried visiting the page only to find it deleted. I immediately sent e-mails to Angelfire, and eventually it came back, but with half my files gone. This happened near the end of Christmas break. The timing was REALLY bad because I had just reformatted the PC, thus I had all my files deleted. Most of the text was kept safe, but most of my pictures were gone. That was bad, since many of the places I had got the pictures from were deleted now. I didn't have the energy to redo EVERYTHING, so I just posted what I had left, as well as the Specials section, and handed the site over to GMD and his hired help. A few months later, Gokou had revived Pokémon again, and this time the Gold/Silver one worked, somewhat. All we basically could to was train or battle Gym Leaders. Plus, our membership dropped dramatically due to people leaving AOL. In order to get more members, I decided to make a webpage to promote it, RPG Maniacs. About the same time, Philip from DMG Ice was having a hard time getting the fanfics from Pallet Gym up, and mine wasn't there, so I decided to make a separate webpage because I REALLY wanted to get the whole Kataki/Mewtwo saga in there. Thus, that's where this site came from. Whew. Got all that?

I guess you want to know a little bit more about me, huh? Well, to start out with, I'm a collector and a perfectionist. If I didn't like something, I would constantly change it until either I got sick of doing it or it became right. Of course, this only applied to things I like, not things I don't like, like school reports. -.-' Anyway, I have had many big collections. My first was G.I. Joe, my first obsession. I had about 50 different vehicles, and a leigon of figures. Now all I have left are a few vehicles (A desert helicopter, a Badger, Street Fighter tank thing, an Ice vehicle that shot disks, one Locust, and the badass General Base.) and a few figures (Blanka, G.I. Joe Subzero [Not the MK version], Snake Eyes, and Sci Fi). Next was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That was even bigger than G.I. Joe. I had almost every figure, including the transformers, the sports ones, and the Prehistoic ones. I also had many of the vehicles as well, and all the video games. Just like G.I. Joe though, most of it is gone. -.-' Now I have like two figures and the Patty Wagon left. My latest collection is actually many. I have all the 1/144 Gundam Wing Models, including Endless Waltz, 1/100 Altron, a few Digimon figures, some airplane models, a model of Venom from Spiderman (Is it Spiderman or Spider-man?), a yellow sports car model, and over 130 of the 2" Pokémon figures. Although, since I live in one of those towns that rarely gets the hard-to-find stuff, I missed out on some of them. Anyway, that's basically it. ^_^!
