CUT TO: KASSIDY’S ROOM
MUSIC FADES OUT
Kassidy is the new girl at school. She is fairly outgoing and is about 18yrs old. There are empty boxes all over her room. She is on the phone with her boyfriend, Tyler.
Kassidy:
Hey babe! I just unpacked all my stuff. I think I’m really gonna like it here.
Tyler’s Voice:
That’s good. Is your room big?
Kassidy:
Yeah the room is pretty big.
(Knocking) There is a knock on her door.
Kassidy:
Hold on. Someone is at the door.
Kassidy walks to the door. When she opens it, she finds a guy and a girl standing on the other side. The guy is a little taller than Kassidy. He is dressed in Khaki’s and a collared T-shirt. The girl is dress in a skirt and dressy shirt. They both look to be about 20yrs old. The girl extends her hand to Kassidy.
Sarah:
Hi. I am Sarah and this is Anthony. We are just walking around seeing who is living around us this year.
Kassidy extends her hand to shake with them.
Kassidy:
Hey. I am Kassidy. Come in. I am just on the phone with my boyfriend. I will be right with you
Sarah:
We can come back later.
Kassidy:
No that’s ok. Have a seat.
Kassidy turns around and points to a couch. She picks up the phone.
Kassidy:
Hey Babe. I have to go. I will call you later on. I love you.
Tyler’s Voice:
Ok, I love you too. Bye.
Kassidy:
Bye.
Kassidy returns to Sarah and Anthony
Anthony:
So Kassidy where you from?
Kassidy:
I am from Springfield, Mass. Where are you two from?
Sarah:
Melrose, Mass.
Anthony:
Stoneham, Mass. (pause) So Kassidy you say you have a boyfriend?
Kassidy wonders if Anthony wants to know if she is available to him.
Kassidy:
Yeah! We have been going out for a year now. I meet him through my high school. Are you two seeing each other or friends?
Sarah:
We have been going out since last semester.
Kassidy feeling a bit relieved that Anthony does not have feelings for her.
Anthony:
You have any brothers or sisters?
Kassidy:
No I am an only child. How about you guys?
Sarah:
I am too.
Anthony:
You two should be happy! I have a 16yr old sister, Alissa. And she is one pain in my you know what!
Both Sarah and Kassidy laugh. Sarah walks over to Kassidy’s book self. She notices some books about witchcraft. Kassidy notices.
Kassidy:
Do you two follow a religion?
Sarah and Anthony:
No
Kassidy:
I just switched to Wiccan a few years ago.
Sarah is intrigued but Anthony looks bored.
Sarah:
OH! Tell me what it is like.
Anthony:
No offense to your religion, but I think that is my cue to leave.
Sarah:
MEN!
The girls laugh and Anthony exits.
