The setting of this commercial takes place in a kitchen. The scene opens with music. It is a soft, layed back, and low pitched. There is a wide shot of a guy sitting at a table. On the table is a bowl of M&M’s. The guy is talking to an Orange human like M&M. This M&M is standing on the table next to the bowl. The guy says “so you’re the new crispy M&M’s, Hun”?
The shot moves to a close-up of the guy. While eating M&M’s the guy says “Crispy center…chocolate…Umm…delicious. Your mother must be proud”. In a close-up shot, the M&M says “Umm…pig”! The shot moves to a close-up of the guy. He says “Hun? Excuse me”? Seeing a close-up of the M&M. He says “Ah…Could you just for one second put yourself in my place”?
The image swirls, giving the viewers a sense of time travel. We then view a medium shot of the bowl. The music gets louder and is a high pitch. This time it is a bowl filled with duplicates of the guy. All of them are screaming. We come to the orange M&M, picking up one of the guys, and then eating him. The M&M says “Umm…yum”!
The picture swirls back to present time. The music goes back to the soft, layed back, low pitch. We see a close-up of the guy. He says “Umm…that’s funny”! Then he laughs. We see a close-up of the orange M&M and he gulps. Lastly there is a wide shot of the both of them. The guy eating says “ Uhp…there goes your sister. Uhp…there goes your cousin. Uop…there’s your first date”. The M&M says “Cheryl”. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen is a blue bag of crispy M&M’s. Written to the right are the words “New Crispy M&M’s”. The writing flashes. Under that is the M&M web address, M&Ms.com
