![]() Valentine mania Once again I started one of those artsy projects of mine, with all intention of getting things done early, and here I am, scrambling to finish. About a week ago I got out the pasta machine and started to roll out sheets of polymer clay. Then I got my handy dandy heart stamp that has musical notes on it and stamped away. Then I carefully cut them out with my craft knife, baked them, sanded them, edged them in gold and put a pin back on them. I made 32 of these hearts. I was thrilled that I had this much of my planned Valentine done. Apparently that was it as far as momentum was concerned!
![]() I don’t know why I didn’t just keep going, but I kept thinking I had oodles of time left. Suddenly I need them all for tomorrow night. So I’ve stamped and colored 32 dancing hearts, cut 32 sheets of red cardstock to the right size, cut pink paper to layer on them, and cut and stamped the message ("Your friendship puts music in my heart") on to vellum. I also corner punched hearts on the vellum. Then I decided that I didn’t like how it looked. So the inside is a major problem. I added a heart shaped doily to the outside and will attach the pin to the heart. I like how the outside looks, but I can’t decide what to do with the inside. now while I say I like the outside I should mention that at this point I only have one finished. That means 31 to go.
![]() I need to come to a decision and just get taping and gluing, as I know it wouldn’t take that long to finish them once I get my assembly line process working. I can never get to that point where I can think, well no one else knows what I WANTED it to look like, so just put it together, everyone else will think that it’s swell. The problem with the inside is that the vellum (which is expensive and quite lovely) isn’t showing up against the card stock. I should have made just one before I went to all the trouble of embossing and cutting. But I didn’t so now I have to punt. But I’d better be quick about it!
