Wishing Upon A Star

More llamas!

This has been one of those uneventful days and I have nothing to write about. School is getting more and more stressful, and I’m going to bite someone’s head off very soon.

I have no patience.

My depression is getting deeper. I need time to myself.

The only bright spot of my day is the llamas!

There are four new ones, two of them are a light brown/ beige and the other two are spotted. I’m falling in love with the spotted ones.

As much as the original three dark brown ones captured my fancy, these new spotted ones are quickly taking their place. I think it might be the lighter colored fur. They are sort of beige, or off white, with pale brown spots on them. They don’t look as matted as the ones with the dark fur usually do.

Whatever the case, I now slow traffic to a crawl as I pass by their pen. I’m craning my neck to get even a glimpse of them.

One of these days I’m going to wrap the car around a tree.

I still wonder why they are at this farm. I know they are supposed to be good at keeping coyotes away from sheep, but at this point I think there are more llamas than there are sheep on this farm.

I have nothing else to say.

I so need it to be the weekend so I can hide myself away from the world.

Maybe I’ll go to the stamp store, just to get away for a while.

I haven’t heard from Michael lately. I think that is adding to my black mood.

Trivia: What type of wood is most widely used in the U.S. to make pencils?

Cedar or, more specifically, the incense cedar of the high Sierra Nevada in northern California. It has an extremely straight grain and is soft enough to be sharpened without excessive splintering. The Sierra cedar replaced the red cedar of the Southern U.S. after those forests were depleted.

Cool word: hortatory [adj. HOR-tuh-tor-ee]

If a speech or writing is hortatory, then it carries a quality of strong urging. Example: "Frank's speech was studded with hortatory exclamations, in which he urged us to get involved to save the rainforest." A related synonym is hortative [adj. HOR-tuh-tiv], which can also be a noun naming a communication that is hortatory. Both of these words came from the Latin hortari (to encourage). Also from hortari, combined with the Latin prefix ex- (more so; intensely), we have these closely related words:

exhort [v. ig-ZORT]: urge strongly; appeal urgently

exhortative [adj. ig-ZORT-uh-tiv] intended to encourage or incite

exhortatory [adj. ig-ZORT-uh-tor-ee]: exhortative

exhortation [n. eg-zor-TAY-shun]: an exortative speech or writing

Today you might encounter some difficulties where your siblings or neighbors are concerned. You could also burn your bridges with some co-workers either because you yourself lose your temper or because they're simply not in the mood to listen to all your thoughts and opinions. While it may appear to some that you merely enjoy hearing yourself talk big, others might really appreciate some of the things you have to say.
