Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3rd, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Alexander’s father was Alexander Melville Bell, an speech expert. Alexander’s mother was, Alexander Melville Bell’s first wife Eliza Grace. Bell was called, Aleck when he was a child. He was the middle son of three boys, whose parents were strict, but loving. His brothers where named, Melville and Edward. His father was an elocutionist- a teacher of speech, and his mother, who was partially deaf, was an artist and a musician. Alexander Graham Bell’s father, and grandfather, were both speech experts. Bell’s mother was also deaf, which helped him see how important it was to living in a world of sound.
