The team was also asked to create a device capable of delivering 12 objects to a receiver, outside the gird.

The Cove Elementary Team won the elementary division of this challenge. Team members, Kate Reed, Stafanie Harris, Anna Roy, Anna Reed, Lauren McGinnis, Clare Stanton and Lindsey McLaughlin created a weight mechanism to propel their vehicle. Their presentation included a colorful backdrop and costumes. In addition to qualifying to compete at the Global Finals, the team was awarded a Renaissance award for engineering, design, and performance and a Spirit of Discovery and Imagination award for

teamwork.

The second Beverly team qualifying to compete at the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee was the Beverly High School team consisting of Bill Raymond, Andrew Walker, Kyle Theriault , Jenn Ames , Sarah Diehl and Mike Andruskiewicz. The team placed first and also was awarded the DaVinci Award for outstanding creativity and risk taking, for there solution to the vehicle challenge. The Two teams traveling to the Global tournament at Knoxville will, together, need to raise over $15, 000 to cover the cost of transporting there props, materials, and team members to Tennessee. The teams will be doing various fundraisers such as selling 50/50 raffle tickets. If you would like to help us please contact Doug Walker at 978-922-8930 or email Beverlymaom@hotmail.com.
