A STORY TO BE TOLD!

There is almost always a message in the stories that needs to be told.

So if you have lost a dog or had one badly injured, write us and tell us your story!

And if it were to save one dogs life? That would that be worth writing!
WHO KNOWS IT COULD HAVE BEEN YOUR DOG THAT IT SAVED!

One day when I had to have my car worked on at a garage. I had taken my dog with me and when I let the dog off the leash to go to do its thing I lost track of it. And when I went to find it, one of the mechanics ask me if I had a dog with me? I said yes and the next thing he told me, sent shivers up and down my spine!

"I Think Your Dog Has Eaten Rat Poison"

Well, let me tell you, I did not know what to do next? The mechanic told his boss, and he confronted me and asked me if I wanted to call a vet that was right down the street. When I told the vet what happened he told me what to look for! And as soon as I got off the phone the dog started to show the first signs of poisoning.

So, I took the tray of rat poison and all the INFO and the owner of the garage took me to the vet, and when we got there, they were waiting for us and went right to work! What I saw in a matter of minutes, less than 30. It was scarring the S… out of me! The dog went from normal to completely incoherent in 30 minutes and all I was think was "ITS DEAD"

I sat in the waiting room for over an hour, and then the vet came out to tell me the dog would be fine! I could feel life pluses through my body once more. I had learned a lesson that I would like to tell everybody. When you have your dog with you, and you and the dog are in a strange place, never let the dog off the leach!

Scared S…les

I enjoyed your homepage so much I had to share my story for all to read

We got a Bichon puppy. I found the owner through some phone calls. A few days after we had the puppy home, I noticed that her right eye looked smaller than the other. When she had her first vet appointment, the Dr. could not see her retina. As is goes, she is blind in her right eye and looks as though she has a "Detached Retina"

I believe the place we bought her was probably a puppy mill. We didn't pay a high price for her and we bought her for a pet only and not to breed. We love her so much and wouldn't give her up for anything. It's a shame these puppy mills breed these dogs the way they do and the puppies have birth defects.

We have learned a lesson and in the future if we want another puppy, we will be more careful.
I guess we should have known better.

Our puppy (Chloe) needed a home anyway and we are happy to have her. We are just thankful we didn't want to breed her. She is not completely house broken yet. She is almost 6 months old. Is this normal?

Again, I really enjoy your web page and I will be visiting again. Thanks, Rebecca Shuman

There are three lessons to learn here.

1. Contract
If there were a contract, she would have grounds to take the dog back and get a new dog or her money. 99% of puppy mills will not do a contract.

2. Puppy Mill
This is a hard lesson to learn!
The first thing that should be done is, find out as much about them as you can.
Second thing, if you feel that they are still a Mill "REPORT THEM"
If you do your part (report them) to help stop puppy mills, we can stop them!

3. Not House Broken
90% that buy a dog from us say the same thing.

"I have had no problem house braking our puppy, WHY?"

As soon as we feel the puppies can be worked with we start to train them!
Now some people think this is crazy, but we start to work with our puppies at 6 weeks!
90% of breeders, can not be bothered with devoting this time to the puppies, or will not do this.

Who Was MAX
Max was one of the smartest dogs, I have ever owned! I could let him out the door in the morning and go about what I had to do that day and not even think twice about him. He had a routine he would do also, and would be gone for hours!

When I was working construction, my brother-in-law and I would take him to the job site and he would hang around the site all day. Sometimes he would take off, but would always be in calling range.

One day when my brother-in-law had max at the job site and was working on the roof, one of the boards that he was standing on need to be moved. When he went to move it, it slipped out of his hands and all he could do was watch it slides down the roof.

Knowing that no one was on the ground below he did not even bother to yell, as he heard the board hit the ground with a thud. When he went down off the roof to get the board, he kind of started to think, "when he saw the board sticking straight up, stuck in the ground" maybe I had better yell next time, "just in case"?

Well as the day went on, he was all finished on the roof and was ready to take down all of the boards off the roof. As he did he lost his balance and had to let go of the board he was carrying and once again watch it slides down the roof, and waited for it to hit the ground. When he heard the most gut wrenching, grouse's sound, he had ever heard in his life!

Thinking "O my GOD" there was a kid playing down below!

When he got down, he found that MAX was unconscious lying on the ground near the board but saw no blood! Thinking, it must of hit him in the head and knock him out, and he would be fine. He tried to wake him up and after awhile he did wake up!

Max did wake up, and max laid right there, and he did not move! Come to find out that Maxi's back was broken! And max would never take his daily walk around town. And yes, I would never think twice about max that day!

But now, whenever I go to do something, I always look around to see if? And think, "could" a KID or DOG get around me were I am working?

The lesson to learn here is, never take a DOG with you to a job site!

MAX would always bark when someone would come around the site, and would scare the kids away! "Maybe" Max saved someone's life?
