In Loving Memory William (Bebo) Joseph Lilly July 12, 1962 - April 1996 |
My wonderful son, (Bebo) was a flight line mechanic in the Air Force.
He was the crew chief on the C-5 Military cargo plane at the tender age
of 17 ( after trying out for the astronaut program, he physically failed
due to birth defects, though not life threatening, yet rendering him unable
to physically withstand
the force of the take off.) After his discharge, he worked at Boeing aircraft,
Wichita, Ks. and then McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, Ca. where he was
part of an elite crew. He and his leadman were honored when Mr. McDonnell
flew to the L.B. plant to personally meet them and congradulate them on
their job. . When times got hard , layoffs came, and my son had little
seniority. He then went to Texas to be closer to his father, where he worked
a meager job just to maintain necessities. He met on the job what he thought
to be a nice young man who needed someone to share rent and bills in a
2 bedroom house, so my son moved in. Shortly my son's property started
to disappear, and my son was shot in the head with a 9mm while he slept
on the sofa in the living room. They put him in a 55 gal. drum with bleach
and lye, then buried him in one guy's backyard. 8 months later he was found
after they were caught hijacking a bus load of people in route to a casino
in Shreveport Louisiana. One man had my son's I.D. on him. He told F.B.I.
where to find my son.
Now, the opportunity comes to ultimately honor my son's life and memory through launching some of his ashes into space, a service provided by Celestis.
