Paper Dolls

Women's WWII Living History Group

Do you know someone who

reenacts World War II?

Ever wonder what draws them to it?

Did you ever want to step into

the 1940's, just for a little while?

Paper Dolls was founded in January, 1999, by a group of women determined to show that women did not just sit home with the children, waiting for their men in the 1940's, during World War II.

What had seemed like a silly conversation turned serious, as we realized that if we combined our efforts, and did things together, we could get much further in gaining the respect of historians and other Living History supporters.

We portray women from all walks of life, from hometown sweethearts to French Resistance, from American Red Cross and ANC, to WAC, CWAC and WAVE, to German Signals Helferin, DRK Nurses and Helferin, from WASP to WAAF to ATS to Russian Snipers. We do it all, and we are proud to do it well.
