Nittany Lions- The word "Nittany" was derived from a Native American term meaning "single mountain". They named the mountain in Happy Valley, Mount Nittany. At a baseball game against Princeton's Bengal Tigers in 1904, Joe Mason made up the Nittany Lion, since we had no mascot, and told Princeton it was the "fiercest of them all" and could overcome even the tiger. PSU won that day...and now we have a mascot!
WE ARE PENN STATE...HERE US ROAR!!!
This is Joe Paterno...aka JoePa...Basically, he is the god of Penn State...we buy cut-out cardboards of him, dolls, and yes, even salt and pepper shakers...hey, I never said we were normal! We bleed blue and white BABY!!!
Even though this year was a rough year for Penn State, the fans still believe!!!
