Ozzie Guillen, SS for the Chicago White Sox, suffered a career ending injury (Torn Rotator Cuff) during the 1980 Historic Mogul League season. Dubbed a future Gold Glove shortstop by owner Andrew Sloca, Guillen's loss is a severe blow the the future of the ChiSox. During his brief rookie season, he played 32 games for the Sox. He hit .264 with 34 hits and 11 RBIs. Not thought of as more than a solid hitter, Guillen was touted more for his defensive skills. In his 32 games, he compiled 117 assists and 33 double plays while only committing 2 errors. The White Sox organization would like to honor Ozzie by making him the newest addition to our scouting staff. Hopefully, he will be happy with his new position within the organization.
