Zelda 64 Magic Abilities
1. Magic Meter and Sword Technique: To recieve the power of a Magic Meter you must first learn the Sword Technique. You can recieve both of them as kid Link on the top of Death Mountain. It is located to the left of the entrance to Death Mountain Crater. You have to have bombs, however, to break down the wall and enter.
This gives Link the Magic Meter which is necessary for other Magic Moves. It also gives him the Sword Technique which gives him better reach and strength if he powers up.
2. Din's Fire: After you recieve the sword technique and the magic meter, the Great Fairy says to visit her friend near Hyrule Castle. So, if you go to the Hyrule Castle entrance, you probably already know that Link can climb up the vines on a cliff to get across the gate. Once you do this, jump (or climb) down. Then go straight, and maybe a little bit to the left, where there is a small dead end with a boulder in front of it. Use a bomb to get rid of the boulder and enter through the small crack that leads to the fairy fountain.
3. Faore's Wind: Reaching the location of this Great Fairy Fountain. It is located in Zora's Fountain, behind King Zora, also as Kid Link. From coming out of Zora's Domain, take a sharp left. Then walk straight until you reach and island with many bushes and stones on it. Walk up to the cliff wall with the sones up against it. If you face it, it should be in the direction of Zora's Domain. Use a bomb near the two stones, up against the wall. Then it should exlode allowing you to enter.
Faore's Wind is a transportation system for Link. the first time you use it, you set a warp point. Then if you want to come back to it use Faore's Wind again. To dispel a warp point it is an option on the little menu.
4. Magic Meter Upgrade: To attain this power Link must have the Megaton Hammer so this one must be done as an adult. You'll notice near the entrance to Death Mountain Crater that there is an entrance blocked by two boulders. Use the Megaton hammer to break them. It should take only two hits per boulder. Then enter and you will be at the Great Fairy Fountain.
This upgrade increases Link's Magic Meter, giving him twice as much magic. This can be very useful for the final boss...
5. Nayru's Love: The last Fairy Fountain is located just outside the Spirit Temple in the Desert Colossus. It is very hard to find since it is a small crack on the outer lying sand dunes. If you are coming out from the Spirit Temple, stay on the wall to you left. It is pretty far up but is located between two palm trees.
This special ability allows Link to be invincible for a short period of time. It is the most powerful of Magic Meter uses, so it naturally uses the most magic.
