My Ocarina of Time Review

This game, is THE best game EVER. period. If you have an n64 and don’t own this yet I oughta hunt you down and slap you in the face. There simply is no game better. I am reviewing this after playing Majora’s Mask, and all I can say is that even though Majora’s Mask may have better, graphics, larger environments, more enemies, and the expansion pak, Ocarina of Time still beats it in my book. The gameplay is epically great, and the graphics are almost Majora’s Mask caliber, the sound is astounding, the appeal is too great for description, and I loved this game all around.

Gameplay: As put before, the gameplay is great and even invented a new technique that was copied by many other games. The Z-targeting was that revolutionary technique that allowed for a great fighting system. The C-buttons carry the items which is a great idea, and the A-button allowed for reading as well as talking. The story is a great one and the temples are a classic trait. (10)

Graphics: Some of the best I’ve seen on the n64, except for Majora’s Mask of course. However the graphical value doesn’t change noticeably enough to take away points for it or say that the graphics are drastically inferior to Majora’s Mask. After 2 years, the graphics still deserve the perfect score of a 10.

Sound: Ocarina of Time had some great music, everywhere you went a beautiful song would chime along in the background. The world theme was great, almost comparable to the original overworld theme. The simple songs that are played on your ocarina also have a good value. The sound affects were great but there’s not a whole lot more you can do with them. (10)

Length/ Intrigue: Ocarina of Time was a good length, and through that length, the game left you wanting to play every second of your life. There were plenty of upgrades, and the growth of Link evolved to an interesting experience. It was almost it you were in control of two different characters. The 8 temples were superb and the final boss was hard, but very rewarding. (10)

Other: I throughly enjoyed this game and give a stand alone 10. If it were possible, I'd give it a higher grade.

My thoughts: this game kicks @$$! This is highly suggested especially for those who are seeking a good 1 player adventure game. This is one of the n64's best titles of all time.
