Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome
I have searched the web and found tons of links for
CFS, you will find them below my story! I have also added a poem
on this page!
My Story:
I have been
sick for over a year now and I was just recently diagnosed with
CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). For those of us that suffer from
CFS we can tell you that this is a very hard disease to live with,
it takes what you used to call your life and turns it into constant
pain and fatigue. Active people can no longer do what they are used
to doing, I have 4 children and I can no longer do the everyday
day things I used to do with them, there are times I can't even
help them with their homework. This has made it very hard for me
to feel like I am an adequate mother or wife. I feel as if I can't
provide what a wife and mother should be providing to their family.
I feel I am very blessed though, to have a wonderful husband and
kids that are very supportive and understanding of this horrible
Chronic disease. I have constant light headedness, constant pain
and tightness in my neck and shoulder area and it doesn't matter
what I am doing, the light headedness has been there constant for
over a year now. Some people with CFS only have bouts of light headedness.
I wish that were the case with me, but unfortunately it's not! I
wanted to design this web page for people like me and for their
families to understand more about CFS, I myself don't know much
about CFS but as I searched the web for links to put on this page
I am learning more and more. I hope within this page you will find
links and such that will help you in understanding CFS. I take no
responsibility for any of the links provided here, or any information
that may be incorrect. Like I said, I am just learning about CFS,
so the information comtained within the links is also new to me.
If you see a link or any information that is not correct and can
prove this, please let me know and I will remove it immediately!
I just wanted to make a web page for people to read up on CFS, I
will probably use these links just as much as some of you will!
Remember, always consult your Doctor with any questions you may
have reguarding any information you may find here, or anywhere else
for that matter!

"Just
For Today"
Just for today I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle
my whole life problem at once. I can do something for twelve hours
that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham
Lincoln said, that "most people are as happy as they make up their
minds to be." Just for today I will adjust myself to what is, and
not try to adjust everything to my desires. I will take my "luck"
as it comes, and fit myself to it. Just for today I will try to strengthen
my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be
a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought
and concentration. Just for today I will exercise my soul in three
ways. I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out; if anybody
knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I don't
want to do --just for the exercises. I will not show anyone that my
feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.
Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can,
dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit,
not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody
except myself. Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow
it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests--hurry
and indecision. Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by
myself and relax. During this half hour, some time, I will try to
get a better perspective of my life. Just for today I will do unto
you as I would have done unto me. I will think of you as I would have
you think of me and I will speak of you as I would have you speak
of me. But before I speak of you, I will ask myself these questions:
"Is it good?" "Is it necessary?" Just for today I will be unafraid.
I will not be afraid to enjoy that which is beautiful, and to believe
that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.
