New
Tournament
That's
right folks. We're gonna start a new C&C
Tournament for all of you dedicated fans. We are
going to have a 16 slot, step-ladder single elimination
tournament. If more than 16 people sign up we will
make room, but we need at least 16 people in it. All
standard rules will apply; please check the Tournaments
section to refresh yourself. -DGU
Archived
News
To
prevent a clutter jam that was quickly starting to backlog
this site, I posted all news occurring before Thanksgiving
2002 in the Archived News section. This includes my
farewell essay that in reality saved the site. Also
I will removing the stories from this section shortly as
the end of the month is approaching. I have decided
to create a special archives section for this.
Simply look under
Archived News
to find
it. -DGU
History
of The Barracks
The
History of the Barracks has been posted in the history
section. It recounts the history of the Barracks
from its founding to the present day. Coming Soon: A
section addressing what we plan to do here at the Barracks
in the future. In it we plan to address how to start
a C&C GOLD revival. -DGU
More
Updates
I
have made some more updates to the page including a
tedious update to the Nav Bar at left. There are
still a few dead links under Game Info and Site Info, but
I plan on getting those put up soon. Under the Files
section and Game Info section, there are still a links
that lead you to the old school Barracks. They still
give you all the info you need, they just look
different. I may leave them as they are just as a
little reminder of what the Barracks used to be before it
became the worldwide hit it is now. I also hope to
get the History section up soon. In it, I hope to
chronicle the history of the web site, and also the
history C&C the game, and the history of the world, if
the world took place according to the games. -DGU
Coming
Soon!!!
Now that we have
decided to come out of "retirement" and finish
the site, it is time to get this show in gear. I
already put up a new pole, that will last till the new
year, and please sign the guest book and include any
suggestions you think are needed to help us improve the
site. Coming soon to the files section will be the
music of C&C. I am also planning on sending an
email request to Westwood in hopes of obtaining an
interview with the creator of the game to let us know on
the future of C&C GOLD and perhaps an interesting
tidbit of info on Generals!!! Things are pretty
hectic around here now that we carry the burden of being
the only fully functional site that is left devoted to
C&C GOLD. I hope you will stay with the Barracks
for all the latest info on C&C GOLD!!! P.S.: If
you want to leave us a private message without signing the
guest book click on our names in the bottom left under Web
Master and Staff. -DGU
NEW
FILE!!
As
a parting shot with the site, I posted a new file;
entitled, A Soldier's Story, I spent over a year
writing it (still a work in progress) and various friends
of mine have read it and enjoyed it. For those who
care, it received a B when I cut about 15 pages of it out
and handed it in for an English assignment. -DontGivUp
Nod
Structures Section Updated!
Also as
one of my parting shots with the site, I finally got
around to fixing up the Nod structures section of the
page. It was something that had been on the list for
while. I may be back with updates, but this may be
it. I wish you luck in whatever the future holds for you
and hope that I will see you again in a Red Alert 2
Tournament sometime soon. :-( -DontGivUp
Goodbye
From the Barracks...
Yes, sadly, I will no longer update the barracks. Good luck in your
online games ;) -Ojo
