Andrea Catherine's Birth Story and Photos

Here is how it all started...I went into labor at around 11:00pm on Tuesday, April 20, 1999. It was the day that the tragic Columbine shootings took place. I had been on bedrest for five days at this point, which I spent most of at the mall. (I almost wonder if that's what put me into labor???) Anyhow, the next day, we went into the hospital, only to find out that I was not in labor, at least in their minds. I was sent home in AGONY, and told I was dehydrated. I spent all night drinking Sprite and eating chocolate graham crakers. (No wonder Andrea was so jumpy!!!) I went to my regular appointment with every intention of asking to be induced, but I was luckily already halfway through labor, making GREAT progress, and was admitted a few hours later. Billy was so wonderful during the whole process. He really calmed me down, and stayed by my side the whole time. She was born at 9:35pm on Thursday April 22, 1999. She was 5 pounds, 7 ounces and 18 inches long. About 3 minutes after she was born, the doctor FINALLY told us that she was a GIRL. We had not found out the gender during an ultrasound, and were just so happy! The day our "little peanut" was born was the happiest day of our lives!

This is at the hospital when Andrea was just two days old. Billy could've held her all day long. She truly is "daddy's little girl"
