Patrick Casserly may make an appearance at the Halloween Foosball Tournament after all. While stressing it wasn't definite, Pat did leave open the possibility he may swing by for a cameo appearance towards the end of the festivities. In all likelihood he would be too late to take part in any of the events, but he has at least left open the possibility he will be there as a spectator. No word yet on if Jon Casserly is part of the package, although there could be some consideration given to letting Jon lose a game for old times' sake.
Steve has announced that there is one person that he has invited that will be at the Halloween Foosball Tournament on time. Steve wouldn't name names, but said that the person is in fact a guy and could possibly take part in the football game. Steve still wouldn't name names but said some other people might show up later, and that all the other people that might be there on time will be girls.
Some may be speculating who the Marlins-Yankees World Series matchup this year favors in the Halloween Foosball Tournament. The two biggest sporting events of the fall usually overlap, and this year shall be no different, as Game Six will take place the same evening as the the tournament. The Yankees have won four championships during the HFT era. In 1996 they won, and Greg won the HFT. In 1998 they won and Corey won the championship. In 1999 they won and Steve won the championship. The only person to win two Yankee year titles is Corey who also won in 2000 when the Yankees beat the Mets. In 1997 when the Marlins won, Greg won the championship. So really its hard to tell if there is any pattern. Perhaps in the runners up? 96: NYY, Jim/Pat...97: FLA: Steve, 98: NYY: Nicky, '99 NYY: Corey, and '00: NYY Steve. So every time that the Yankees have won the World Series, a different person has lost in the finals, however, Steve has lost in the finals every year that the Marlins went to the World Series. The Marlins have never lost a playoff series, but in the one year that the Yankees lost in the World Series: Greg beat Jim in the finals. And perhaps here is the pattern....In 1997 The Yankees didn't make it to the World Series, Greg won. 2001, Yanks lost the World Series, Greg won. 2002: Yanks again didn't make it to the World Series, and Greg lost in the finals to Corey. But Greg still won in '96 alongside the Yankees. Maybe this means that Jim was destined to win in 1996 and Greg only won because he faced Pat......and lets not forget about the controversy that occurred in 1996. So lets assume that 1996 was a fluke year of sorts, especially in the finals, and everyone knows that Jim was to going to win. If these theories ring true, if The Marlins win the World Series, then Greg will win the Halloween Foosball Tournament, as he has won every time the Yankees lost or the Marlins won the World Series. Damn.......Go Yanks???
