More news from the western front. While much of the UMass speculation has been centered around Patrick Casserly and even his brother, Jonathan. However, in a surprising twist, another Minuteman, Hakmeng Kang, is seriously considering making his long awaited Halloween Foosball Tournament debut. He's currently battling a cold, and that could play a role, but there's a great chance he could come. Due to a lack of communication on the issue, and also the huge distance between Amherst and Lowell, most assumed that Hakmeng would not be able to attend, but the recent revelation is great news for the Halloween Foosball Tournament.
If Hakmeng does enter the Foosball Tournament, many figure he could be one of the top picks in the football draft. The Mister Cyrs didn't want to comment directly, however, sources indicate they feel as if he would be a more than worthy replacement for one of the three Cyrs who will be MIA. Hakmeng's football talents were on display in May 2002 at the infamous Hampton Beach football game on the day before the Lowell High School Prom. The Greg Angel Yackadoodles' Greg Ouellette was also at that game, and he also could be interested.
Other top potential football players in the draft include: Shawn Paradise, Joey Higson, Anthony Rodriguez, the fictional Mark Trout, and Steve's friend, Evan. Steve also has his mystery friend who could be in it. Sothey Long remains a potential prospect although his recent comments lead one to doubt he will be in attendance. He too, could shock the world, like Hammerin' Hak.
With only a couple days separating us from the 2002 Halloween Foosball Tournament, it appears that the weather will be cooperating this time around. Weather.com is predicting Partly Cloudy Skies, with 20% chance of precipitation. Hopefully that number will go down, but its a lot better than last year at this time where it was almost certain it was going to rain. The temperatures are projected to be a high of 55 and a low of 50, so it will be a little chilly but certainly not too cold. Here's hoping the weather Saturday is at least that good, if not better.
Jim and Steve have reportedly considered offering Uncle Billy a spot in the softball game if he so chooses. "UB" was the most dominating pool ball pitcher of the summer for a stretch until the demise of Sammy Citrus. Citrus will be honored at the Halloween Foosball Tournament. Jim, Steve, and UB are all competing in a Whatifsports.com league that will also take place this weekend. RSG Nation, Power Alley, and the UB Sox will take on Grady Little's 2003 Red Sox + Rico Petrocelli as well as two random people because Keith, Angel, and Greg all failed to sign up. Notice that they are all GAY.
