Trot Nixon!
As reported in the 10/4 news 'n notes, Jim and Steve had standing room tickets for the Red Sox-A's game last night. Derek Lowe and the Sox bullpen pitched masterfully, while the Oakland Athletics looked like a bunch of idiots throughout the game. Then after 11 innings of intense baseball, Trot Nixon stepped up to the plate, and sent a deep drive over the center field wall to win the game for Boston!
Greg will be at the game today. John Burkett and Tim Hudson is the pitching matchup. The game will be taking place simultaneously with the Patriots game against the Tennessee Titans.
Jim and Steve also went to the Tewksbury Wal Mart and bought the official football to be used in this year's The Big Game. Although it isn't quite an official NFL size, the ball is perfect for Halloween as it is black with bright orange laces and lettering. The Mister Cyrs and the Greg-Angel Yackadoodles will renew their rivalry October 25th as part of the Halloween Foosball Tournament extravaganza.
The website has been a bit behind on updates over the last few days. Part of it is due to the Red Sox playoffs, but also a lot is due to Nicholas Ostis and Warcraft III. In any event, there have been a couple updates recently including the statistical results of the first round in the VHFT's two tournaments. The website continues to creep up on 1,000 hits. As of press time, the website has reached 995 visitors. Of course, the number is in actuality higher, as that only counts the main page and not the introduction page, although the intro page used to serve as the main index page. It still will be quite the milestone.
