Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees, ALCS, Game One, Tonight on FOX.
It all comes down to this. After an exhilarating series with the unworthy losers from Oakland, the Boston Red Sox prepare to take on The Evil Empire tonight in the Bronx. Manning the Millennium Falcon will be Tim Wakefield against Mike Mussina. The Yankees are rested and confident, but the Sox are on a roll. One thing's for sure, it will be a hell of a series.
Jim has decided to watch the game in Wilson and Jimmy Tran's room, as he currently does not have a television in Boston. Wilson, is of course, one of the top foosball players in the HFT today, (first round loss to Derek notwithstanding). Jimmy is following in the long tradition of people named Jim (besides Jim Ostis) during the Halloween Foosball Tournament, by opting not to go, and instead, dance. No word on if it is in Dracut or not, however.
Speaking of Jim, one thing that could be standing in the way of he and Greg waiting in line for day of game tickets to Saturday's game, in addition to the fact he has to work, is that Friday night is the one Lowell High football game of the year that Jim has declared he would definitely go to. Lowell High faces Chelmsford, a town which Jim hates "more than Oakland." The BU Terriers ice hockey team also opens that evening against RPI, but since Jim has committed to returning home to take care of some things, he would like to cut down on travel between cities.
New York Yankees fan, Angel Nales is very much in favor of the proposed softball game to be held during the HFT extravaganza. Angel, our resident softball pro, was quoted as saying "very nice" when he first heard the idea mentioned. According to screamineaglessoftball.com, Angel batted .647, driving in 41 runs, and hitting 9 home runs in only 51 at bats in softball this summer. Greg used to play softball too, for a team called the Billerica Yankees!
Go Sox!
