Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

The Halloween Foosball Tournament is now under four weeks away.  Defending champion Corey Pinkham is making headlines this week with his announcement that he will play the entire 2004 HFT one-handed.  Corey, who has won the last two tournaments in dominating fashion, first got the idea after defeating rival James Ostis one-handed in a practice match last match, although Jim has defeated Corey in many other matches this fall, including once by a score of 10-1.  Commenting on Corey's bravado, Jim stated, "Its all an elaborate plan.  Corey knows that I will defeat him this year if we play so he's looking for an excuse.  If he makes it to the finals, I want him to play with both hands, no asterisks will be attached to my victory this year."

Corey's doubles partner and potential semi-finals opponent, Steven Ostis, would only say that Corey's idea was "stupid."

James Higson will finally make his Halloween Foosball Tournament return, according to his brother Joe Higson.  Joe, who was in attendance in 2003 announced that he would be at this year's event over the weekend. It is not yet known whether he will again serve as Corey's cut-man...or perhaps even as a "hit man."  James Higson's last appearance at the Halloween Foosball Tournament came in 2000.

Jim has repeatedly said over the past month that this year's event will have the largest tournament field in history, citing both newcomers and returning veterans and the news that the Higson brothers could both be at the tournament is another example of this.

Steve has been watching a lot of Rocky movies lately.
