Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

  • October 3rd, 2006

With less than four weeks to go until the Eleventh Halloween Foosball Tournament, the first edition of 2006 Halloween Foosball News ‘N Notes is now online.

First news is not really news at all, but rather a confirmation of what we already knew.  Corey “HumperdinkPinkham’s long run as the dominant player of the Halloween Foosball scene is now over.  Last year’s champion will not be defending his title as he has moved to Florida and has no plans to make the trip back to Lowell on the last Saturday of October.  While Corey’s presence will be missed, there is now a great deal of intrigue as to who will win the tournament.

While Corey will be missing this year, there has yet to be confirmation of attendance from the camp of last year’s biggest and most controversial no-show Greg Ouellette.  The co-founder of the HFT refused to attend the 2005 tournament after he missed the first train to Lowell.  It was the first time that Greg did not compete.  If he were to return, odds would probably make him the early favorite with his long-time nemesis in the Sunshine State.

New in 2006, the Halloween Foosball Tournament has a myspace page.  That page will assist this site in presenting coverage of the annual event.

C.K. Mulenga claims to be making an HFT comeback this year.  If it comes to pass, it would actually be the singles playing debut for the Zambian superstar.  C.K. did team with Colin Bielski in the 2003 Doubles Tournament, but has never competed in the actual HFT.  The last two years CK has been out of town during the event.  In 2004, CK was in Marlboro, while last year he was in Maryland.  C.K. burst onto the Halloween Foosball scene due to his performance in the 2003 Big Game as a member of the Mister Cyrs football team.  CK was the team’s Corey Dillon and Rodney Harrison rolled into one.  Just ask Keith.
