Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

  • October 25th, 2006

Tenth Anniversary Today marks the actual tenth anniversary of the Halloween Foosball Tournament.  Hard to believe but it was ten years ago tonight that the tournament was born on an impromptu basis in the barn.  The HFT website takes a look at the controversy of the evening between Greg Ouellette and Patrick Casserly that has been forgotten over time but has come back into light as we look back on this anniversary.

Get Out the Vote? A couple days ago, the Halloween Foosball Tournament posted a story about Steve Ostis and the question of who should be his doubles partner this year now that Corey is in Florida.  As noted in that story, Kenny Stuart has shown a major interest in teaming with Steve.  Now in the accompanying poll that asks readers who they think should be Steve’s partner, there is a considerable amount of support for the Kenny option.  Is Mr. Stuart hoping to influence Steve’s decision with a strong showing in this poll?  Or are they really that many people out there otherwise dying to see the Steve & Kenny team?

The cellar is just about ready for Saturday.  A new elaborate tournament board was created during the Massachusetts gubernatorial debate last night and is on the wall opposite from where the brackets have been traditionally posted.  The next major step in the preparation for the tournament would appear to be design of the trophies, which could be completed as soon as today.

Jim and Steve are planning on making their first trip to I-Party this year very soon.

Monster Bash is tonight at the Tsongas Arena.  Jim may make a trip there to “recruit” for the real Halloween Party that is on Saturday.
