Torn Part 1

Torn Part 1

I thought I saw a man brought to life
He was warm, he came around like he was dignified
He showed me what it was to cry
Well you couldn't be that man I adored

You don't seem to know, don't seem to care what your heart is for
But I don't know him anymore
There's nothing where he used to lie
My conversation has run dry
That's what's going on, nothing's fine
I'm torn I'm all out of faith, this is how I feel

My inspiration has run dry
That's what's going on, nothings right,
I'm torn I'm all out of faith, this is how I feel

Natalie winced at the sound of the slamming door. Wiping away her tears, she walked over to the door, silently hoping that he was still outside. Her heart sank when she peered into the empty hallway.

Sagging against the door, Natalie didn't fight the heart breaking sobs coming from her throat.

He was gone. And she didn't know if he was coming back.

For months, she had hoped that their problems were going away, and that she was just reading too much into them.

Tonight, those hopes died when Dan angrily stormed out of their apartment. They had fights before, but nothing was as bad as this. Her marriage was falling apart before her even own eyes.

And she had no idea how to fix it.

Squinting against the morning sun, Dan rolled over to the other side of the bed. He expected to see Natalie sleeping next to him. But he knew that he was not at home. He was holed up in some nice hotel.

After the argument, he was just so mad that he couldn't even think straight. So, for two hours, he wandered the city, trying to calm down. Running away from Natalie was not the answer, but at the time, it was the only choice.

They had exchanged some heated words, and he knew that if he had stayed, he would probably say something that he would regret.

Dan felt so hopeless. He should be home with Natalie, having breakfast with her, and making plans for the day. So, why did he find himself here in this empty hotel room?

Last night had been a harsh wake up call. Something had to change before his marriage totally fell apart.

Dan had known that something was wrong but he just couldn't put his finger on it. All he knew was that it had been building for a while, and last night had been the final straw.

Now, he just needed to figure what went wrong, and try to piece the broken pieces back together.
