Westlife beat out S Club 7, Britney Spears, Steps, and Ronan Keating to win the Best Pop Act at the 2001 Brits! They had also been nominated for two other awards - Best International Newcomer and Best International Group. Before receiving the award, they performed Uptown Girl for the crowd. Congrats, lads!
Westlife's newest single is a cover of Billy Joel's Uptown Girl. The lads are working with Comic Relief, which is a charity set up to help tackle poverty and promote social justice throughout the UK, Ireland and Africa. The single will be released on March 16th, and by buying the single, you're making a donation to the charity! Check out the Comic Relief site here!
