Do
you want to be saved ?
We now will see what the secret is
that so many are scared of that is kept hidden since 325 AD. Many
will say that it is true but we have our traditions, Jesus spoke
about the traditions of men I will paraphrase but this is what he was
saying: they make the commandments of God have no effect. You are
either lost or saved born again of water and Spirit of not.
2 Corinthians 4:3
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
Mark 7:8
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of
men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things
ye do.
Remember what Jesus said when He
spoke about the Comforter, you know Him because He dwelleth with you.
John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth
with you, and shall be in you.
Romans 8:
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but
in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if
any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 ¶ And if Christ be in you,
the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of
righteousness.11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from
the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall
also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
The Spirit of God which is the
Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Christ, the same Spirit that raised him
from the dead. And if you don't have His Spirit you are don't belong
to Him. Remember that Jesus told them what to do, gave them
instructions how to be saved, we will go and see what the Apostles
told people that wanted to be saved, we covered many already so I
will go through them and explain what the instructions are.
Acts 2:42
¶ And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Mark also included a part to the
Great Commission that the rest omitted.
Mark 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
Some Scholars say that this
passage is missing in some of the Greek texts, but they fail to tell
you that they are only missing in two and are on the rest, they are
on 200 manuscripts and not on two, that gives us the indication that
they were removed rather than added. The scholars say that water
baptism is not part of the Salvation plan, and it really don't make a
difference, We must look at it this way the Bible is the Word of God
to man, not that it contains the Word of God and we can pick and
choose what we want, and ignore the rest. It's not what I say but
what the Word of God says that counts.
Another part of the Great
Commission is found in Luke and the Book of Acts.
Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his
name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Repentance and Remission of Sins
will be preached in his name (Jesus) beginning at Jerusalem, and
after the Holy Ghost is come upon you, ye shall be witnesses unto me
all this is going to happen and you are going to teach them what I
told you and you will baptize them, Matthew 28:19-20, it is all one
message only they have been separated so I put them together. This is
how the people in the first century were saved, and there is another
Gospel that was already being preached during Paul's Day, so it is
important to see what was preached, Before we start we must set
something straight the Epistles are written and addressed to the born
again believers that were already knew the salvation message and were
already saved and are a part of the Church of Jesus Christ, it is a
good idea not to apply them in your life till you are saved.
2 Corinthians 11:4
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not
received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might
well bear with him.
It will happen in Jerusalem !! After the Holy Ghost is
fallen upon you, ye shall.
Acts 2:14
¶ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice,
and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at
Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Peter preached the first message
in the New Testament Church starting in Jerusalem and repentance and
remission of sin will be preach in his name, also remember it was
Peter that Jesus "I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom
of heaven"
Matthew 16:19
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
"whatsoever thou shalt bind
on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven"
What were the keys and what did he
loose and what did he bind. Paul wrote:
Ephesians 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation
of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief
corner stone;
The foundation of the Apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone, remember
I told you that these are already born again believers, filled with
the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
After Peter opened the scriptures
and explained what had happened and preached unto to them the death
burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that God this message to
come is the plan of salvation if you wish to receive the Holy Ghost,
the Spirit of Christ and be one of His.
Acts 2: 36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath
made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 ¶ Now when they heard this,
they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest
of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and
to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the
Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he
testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received
his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them
about three thousand souls.
42 ¶ And they continued
stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking
of bread, and in prayers.
They were pricked in their heart,
the knew that they were sinners and wanted to know what they had to
do to be reconciled to God, They already knew they did wrong
committed the greatest of all sins they took part in killing the
Messiah, and wanted to know what the had to do to correct this great
sin, Peter said repent (change our mind on the inside of you and turn
from your sins to God) the old man dies) and dead men must be buried,
and be baptized every one of you. He said every one of you not some
of you, like Mark wrote those that believe shall be saved. But
baptism is not just to let others know that you are already saved but
it is a way to remit remove your sins, (apply the blood of Jesus
Christ the Son of God) That is why you use the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ when being baptized (immersed, buried, that is what the Greek
word Bapto means) And you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost,
The Holy Ghost is a gift from God to you, you don't have to pay
anything the price is already payed, you just have to believe and
obey the Gospel some have heard and not obeyed say it is not
necessary, its only for the Jews its being save by works and not grace
Romans 10:12
¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him
in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of
whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except
they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them
that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the
gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
No there is no difference between
Jews and Gentiles there is only one plan of salvation for both, many
people read Romans 10:9-10 and apply speak the words but do not apply
the meaning, Paul when He was save was also told to call upon the
name of the Lord, How?
Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy
sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Water baptism remits sins washes
them away Jesus said that repentance and remission of sins would be
preached, starting at Jerusalem, and now we know what happened, this
did not end there Peter said "For the promise is unto you, and
to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the
Lord our God shall call." God is still calling are you going to
answer. To prove a point it didn't stop there, like Jesus said.
Next we have Samaria
What Philip preached, the death
burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and what happened they
repented and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, some say when
you believe you are saved, or when you are baptized into the name it
is a Spiritual baptism, Lets see what the Word of God says.
Acts 8: 5
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ
unto them.
6 And the people with one accord
gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing
the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with
loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many
taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man,
called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and
bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some
great one:
10 To whom they all gave heed, from
the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard,
because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip
preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of
Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also:
and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered,
beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 ¶ Now when the apostles
which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of
God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down,
prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon
none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on
them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Philip preached unto them Jesus
Christ it does not mention repentance but it does mention that they
were baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and later when
Peter and John layed hands on them the received the gift of the Holy
Ghost, seems to be a repeat of Acts 2, Later Philip met another man
and when he preached unto him Jesus Christ something happened, and we
know that it is water baptism, what ever he preached had the message
of being baptized, in the name of the Lord. Remember Jesus said
teaching and baptizing.
Acts 8:26
¶ And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise,
and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem
unto Gaza, which is desert.
Acts 8:29
Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him,
and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou
what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except
some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up
and sit with him.
Acts 8:34
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom
speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and
began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Acts 8:37
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou
mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to
stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and
the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of
the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch
saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
He said that He believes that
Jesus is the Son of God and a command was given to stop by the water
and be baptize so it must have been important according to what
Philip preached, it doesn't mention him being filled with the Holy
Ghost but I feel that he did because he went away rejoicing.
Next the uttermost part of the
world (to the Gentiles)
Peter had to be persuaded by God
showing him a vision to go to the Gentiles, we see that Peter was
still a devout Jew a monotheist. but what happened is important.
Cornelius was a righteous man and he prayed all the time but He still
need to do something, so God sent an angel to him and gave him
instructions to find the man with the keys to the kingdom.
