A Simple Story Archived Fanfiction
This is the final resting place of my assorted fanfiction. Once it's finished to some degree, I html it. Often by hand, because I find that programs that do it for you generate a lot of needless code, and I spend more time editting out the extraneous garbage than I did writing it in the first place! This of course, explains why this is the last and longest step. But you can always be assured of the availability of the fic, because if the site is up, the fic is working. I also take care to make sure the pages are readable, meaning light background with dark, clear text, for the most part (I learned in graphic design class that dark-on-light is easiest on the eyes). This may not be the flashiest archive, but I take pride in my ease of reading.
A Simple Story Original Archive
Like with the fanfiction, this is the home of my original work. This is often the only place where you can find my original work (exception being those things in the writing journal). I may not be a very prolific writer, but this is because of the care I take, both in preparing the pages for reading (like above with the fics), and because I am saving my best work for sending to a publisher. Someday, I want to be a professional author, so I hope you won't hold it against me that I can only share certain things here.
I don't write poetry often. It's just not the way I do things, the way I write. When I deem something suitable for human consumption, it will go here. Also, lyrics to songs from fanfics will go here, most likely. This will of course be sporadic and very slim in the pickings.
Fanfiction can be found on my fanfiction.net account. This is a good way to leave
commentary on individual chapters of things, as well as to get my attention to your own work
if you like to share. Occasionally, I go through my reviews and visit their ffnet accounts,
so if they wrote anything I enjoyed, I can return the favor of a review ^_^ This means that
I particulkarly enjoy signed reviews, but I will accept anonymous. I am, of course, very
sporadic about when I do this, so please don't expect immediate replies. I apologize, but I
know my limitations on this. I'm not the world's best reviewer. Not at all.
You may have noticed that I am plugging my writing journal a lot lately. I started it
only recently, as things go, but already, I think it is a great way for me to work. I write
more often, and it's very easy to get it out there to share with others. Also, the Memories
page is very organized and cross-referenced, so finding things should be fairly easy. This
is the most often updated and the most often replied to of my writing online. Plus, it
offers a mix of both fanfiction and original work! Everything seems to be going here first.
