64 North Tenth Street is located in Ocean Heights, in between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. This neighborhood of mostly year-round residents has a peaceful character even in the height of the season that is uncharacteristic of most up-island neighborhoods. The neighborhood is framed by the Felix Neck Audubon Wildlife Sactuary on the west, the Sengekontacket Pond on the north and additional preservation land to the west. Tenth Street is a short unpaved cul de sac essentially devoid of traffic right off the Vineyard Haven - Edgartown road in the heart of Ocean Heights. |
Access to the extensive Martha's vineyard bike trail system is a few hundred yards away from the house. Once on the path, you can access Edgartown (2 miles), Oak Bluffs (5 miles), South Beach (4.5 miles), West Tusbury (8 miles). There is also easy access to the State Forest with it's extensive trail system suitable for mountain biking.
The Felix
Neck Audubon Wildlife Sactuary offers not only walking trails and beautiful
protected beaches on Sengekontacket pond but also has a discovery center
where children can see some of Martha's Vineyard's wildlife up close and
learn from the guides through guided tours and special events such as the
yearly Osprey festival.
