This intense central mass ska-core band formed in
the early summer of 2002
and has been playing shows all over Mass and New
Hampshire. Influences
include: Big D and the Kids Table, Kicked in the Head,
Rancid, Planet
Smashers, Montys Fan Club, and many more excellent
bands. We would ask that you to attend a show near you,
and dare you to try to stand still.
Duckhunt was formed in June of 2001 in the Worcester
county area. It
originally consisted of Jay Paul (Guitar/Vocals), Eric
Stone (Bass/Back-up
Vocals), and Steve Metzger (Drums).
At first, Duckhunt worked mainly with covers, covering
bands from Weezer to
Reel Big Fish to OpIV. Their musical diversity was
something they embraced
with open arms, and their knowledge of music comes out
in their songs.
Soon after a few small shows, we replaced Metzger with
local all-star
drummer Tony Roberto, formally of the ska band The
Walter Kronkites. Soon
after we changed drummers, we picked up the Walter
Kronkites 2 extremely
talented trombone players, Josh Filgate, and Steven
O?Toole.
Our sound quickly changed from punkish with ska
influences type music to a
true ska band, and as time passed we picked up a more
intense sound and
performance. We were now beginning to find our tight,
energetic ska-core
sound that we had been striving to find for such a long time.
Duckhunt has a love for experimenting with their music,
and has written all
their music consistently around ska, but constantly
varies their other
influences song to song.
Their live shows are very energetic and crowd-oriented,
and they have
crowd-participation songs. Each member carries a love
and passion for music that carries over to great stage presence and psychotic energy.
