It is a great honor to be the recipient of the fundraising efforts of Harmony from the Heart. My research group, the Center for Platelet Research Studies at Children's Hospital Boston, is an internationally recognized, multidisciplinary center for the advancement of platelet research by state-of-the-art methods.

Platelets are small blood cells of great importance in coronary artery disease (the most common cause of death in the U.S.), stroke, cancer, diabetes, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). The Center for Platelet Research Studies is actively engaged in research in all these areas - seeking to understand the underlying causes, develop new tests and, most importantly, develop new treatments.
