One moment it was brilliant, the next dimmed, as if covered by a veil. It lasted about an hour. ____________________________________ Hudson, Michigan The Post April 2, 1897 Jefferson---Wednesday morning of last week a beautiful ball of fire was seen in the clouds in this place. For a short time it was very bright, and then it appeared to go down. It lasted for some time. ________________________________ Marshall, Michigan The Daily Chronicle April 2, 1897 The airship which has been floating about in Nebraska is evidently coming eastward as it is reported to have been seen near Galesburg, this state, last evening.
