Choosing a New Color Scheme

A color scheme is a coordinated set of colors for all the basic desktop objects. With a color scheme, you can change the color of everything at once and wind up with colors that look good together and provide reasonable visibility. (You don't want to wind up with black text on black title bars, for example.) To change color schemes, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click an empty space on the desktop and choose Properties from the shortcut menu. The Display Properties dialog box opens.
  2. Click the Appearance tab, shown in Figure 11-6.

  1. Make a selection from the Color Scheme drop-down list.
  2. Click OK.

note The color schemes that are available to you depend in part on your choice of window and button styles. If you choose Windows Classic windows and buttons, all the Windows Me color schemes are available.
