Golden
On a pedestal in the sky
safe from harm,
hopeful charm.
Fall from grace,
glitter burns,
shimmer fades,
and all you’re left with
are disposable tears.
Tears for you,
for him,
for the silent world.
Youth fades,
and players play,
and in the end
you’re better than him.
Disposable tears.
Dry your eyes,
he isn’t worth it.
None of it is,
but love is blind.
You’ll see that later.
He’s out there,
they’re out there,
everyone knows the kind.
So guard your heart
and there will be
no more disposable tears.
