Developing the ear from birth. Angel Investor needed. Musical Intelligence. Cultural Intelligence. ........................................................................

I have composed a great deal of Christian music notated on Finale software. The following music for praise team/choir/congregation was written at Providence Church, Savannah, (PCA) around 2002 to the end of 2007:

Hymn Texts from the Trinity Hymnal, reset to jazz and other contemporary styles as well as a few 'classical' ones, lead sheet/vocal and piano/vocal:
Gloria Patri... Praise to the Lord, the Almighty... He Was Wounded For Our Transgressions... Man of Sorrows, What a Name... My Hope is Built on Nothing Less... Crown Him With Many Crowns... When The Roll is Called Up Yonder...(Its different) My Faith Has Found a Resting Place... I Was a Wand'ring Sheep... Rejoice, the Lord is King... O Love That Will Not Let Me Go... Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah... Stand Up, My Soul, Shake Off Your Fears... Jesus, With Thy Church Abide... Who Are These Like Stars Appearing?...(think funk jazz fusion) Low in The Grave He Lay... Christ is Risen From the Dead... All Glory, Praise and Honor (All Glory, Laud and Honor)... We Praise You, O God (text rewritten also, meter of "Revive Us Again", the story of the incarnation, ministry, death and resurrection of Christ)... The Church's One Foundation...

Psalter texts from the Trinity Psalter or adapted where indicated:
Psalm 22 (extended arrangement!) includes two tunes), Psalm 22 (blues version, unfinished), Psalm 1 (words rewritten to metrically go with a contemporary tune I think by Twila Paris- "Lamb of God") Psalm 2 (wrote metrical words and tune), Psalm 8, Psalm 24- this 'classical' one I want to arrange for brass, organ, tympani and percussion), Psalm 46, Psalm 47, Psalm 51 (rewritten words and tune), Psalm 95 (two tunes), another psalm I can't remember the number of- "Mt Zion, Joy of the Whole Earth", Psalm 115 "Not to Us, Lord, Not to Us", Psalm 45, Psalm 110 "Yahweh said unto my Lord", Psalm 96, Psalm 118 (this jaunty little tune is best sung crisply with a slight island accent), Psalm 136...

Other tunes, and some texts, written at Providence: Worthy is the Lamb Who Was Slain... The Apostle's Creed (the melody/sketch is written, but the full arrangement is yet to be completed for choir and orchestra)...

The following music was written during and shortly after getting my Masters Degree in Music Composition, Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ, around 1997 to 2000:

'Te Deum" for soprano I, soprano II, alto, tenor, and piano... "Little Mass" for choir and organ with congregation.... "Magnificat" for choir, soprano solo and chamber group... "Nunc Dimitis" for Choir, baritone solo, and chamber group... "Miserere Deus" for Choir... "Follow the Gleam" for choir and organ (Tennyson)... "Dover Beach Variations" for piano solo... "Snow" for piano solo "Prelude and Fugue" for organ...

When I lived in North Georgia, 1995-1997 I composed:
"Hymn Sing"- a collection of hymn arrangments for piano, choir and congregation... "How Great Thou Art"- arranged for piano, choir and congregation with optional instrumentation... "Lead Me to Calvary" for choir and piano... "Psalm 42" for baritone solo and piano...and some sketches for piano sonata no. 2 "A Firm Foundation", a composition based on hymn tunes which is still unfinished.

Prior to that in Princeton,1984-1995 I wrote a piano sonata called "Prayer for Russia", a Piano Prelude, and alot of sacred art songs:
Psalms for voice and piano- 103, 128, 45, 46, 110, and 90; and two settings of the Lord's prayer- one called "The Lord's Prayer", and another called "Thy Kingdom Come; "The Armor of God", "Be Still", "Peace I Leave with You", revised "Morning Song", and wrote "Prologue"- a setting of the openning verses of John's Gospel for choir, soloists and orchestra ...
I also wrote a lot of Hymn anthems, arrangements which alternate congregational singing with chior and instrumental, and other hymn arrangements for piano accompaniment, which I had hoped to market. I also wrote a setting of John 3:16 and 17.
I also wrote "The Incarnation" and "Praise Song" for choir and jazz group (piano bass drums trombone tenor sax trumpet)... I later arranged "Praise Song" for larger Jazz group and choir (by hand)...

Before going north to Princeton, in Florida I composed a little lively piece in D major I never wrote down, a piano prelude "O God Our Help in Ages Past", the first sketches of "Prayer for Russia" and "Morning Song"... "Family Song", "Nathan" a jazz song in 5/4 time (lead sheet only)... Psalm 1 and 2, 'art' songs in the modern art music style, for baritone and piano...a setting of the beatitudes which was lost, a setting of Isaiah 42 for baritone and orchestra and choir which was not written down for years but was later scored out, but ruined on Jay's porch when I was unable to store things there.
