Carbeth trout fishery is just off the A809 Bearsden Drymen road, just along from the Carbeth Inn. This is a nice rainbow trout fishery, with both fly fishing and bait fishing, at the moment there is just the one pond but there is another which is being stocked, so that by the spring both will be open. The pond that you see above will be for fly fishing, while the top pond will be for bait fishing. The cost for permits are, bait fishing day ticket (any 8 hours) £14.00 with a four fish limit. half day (any 4 hours) £8.50 two fish limit.
Fly fishing with barbless hook, day ticket (any 8 hours) £15.00 four fish limit, then catch and release, half day (any 4 hours) £10.00 with two fish limit, then catch and release.
Good sport can be had at this fishery, when you are fly fishing, as you will be able to fish on when your fish limit has been reached. If you are bait fishing and reached your limit of two fish (half day), you can upgrade your permit from two fish, to four fish for £7.50 after that, when you then reach your four fish, you must take your rod out of the water.
Hot drinks and food can be had at the shop on site, at a good price, also on sale is fishing rods and reels.
