GRANDPARENTS

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be old,

When ones mind is active, ones body is torn?

Or when innocent children learn to scorn,

The men and women who were born so long ago?

Legs that once stood tall and bold,

Now look crooked and easily fold.

Or whose faces once smooth and clear,

Now show lines of weary and fear.

Who are these people from yesterday,

The ones who have taught us and showed us the way?

These brave men and women, who have taken our hands,

And led us ever so gently through their lands.

I stand in pride beside them all,

Together we stand ten feet tall.

There's nothing that shall make us fall,

For these are our Grandparents who have started us all.

Dedicated to my departed Grandparents,

Kathryn and Emanual Fronsee
