Chapter1

"Hey freak!" An annoying voice whispered behind Jordan's ear. She balled her fist and pressed her fingers against her head trying to keep from screaming out loud and punching the tall brown-eyed spiky haired boy sitting behind her.

"Quit it Erik," She whispered hoarsely at Erik Estrada. She heard Erik snicker then glanced at him ready to yell only to find him shrugging at her. "What?" he mouthed with mock innocence. Jordan turned back around in her chair and tried to listen to Mr. Duwitt's lecture on the importance of economics in America but no luck.

Erik kept on messing with her. Tugging on strands of her hair and using the back of her head as a spitball target. "I swear if you don't stop it..." Jordan warned rubbing her temples even harder trying to calm herself down and for a second she thought it had worked but then she felt it. Something wet, thick, and slimy in her long light brown hair.

Jordan ran her finger through her hair and let out a loud scream of disbelief and disgust. There in her hands laid only a piece of a large wad of raspberry blue gum that was now lodged into her hair. " OH!!! MY! GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You ass hole!" She screamed flying up from her chair and whipping around to find Erik sitting and his friends snickering and trying to hold in their laughter.

"What I didn't do ant thing. " Erik said with once again mock innocence.

"Oh MY God! Are you retarded? You Jackass. You -"

"Cunningham! Estrada!" Mr. Duwitt yelled. All eyes on them now "Both of you. Detention! Today!"

"But!" Jordan and Erik yelled at the same time. Then shot each other angry glares.

"Ooh! I hate him. That idiot!" Jordan yelled out loud slamming her fist against her locker.

"I still don't understand why he doesn't like you so much. Besides from the gum in your hair I think he's pretty cool," (Her somewhat best friend) Nicole said. Jordan let out a frustrated growl then snapped,

"No. He's not. He's an asshole and now thanks to him I have Spend a whole our with him in detention."

"Wait why did he give you detention? Wasn't Erick the one doing everything?" Nicole asked as they walked down the hall. "Not according to Mr. Duwitt. Apparently I was disrupting class," Jordan said sarcastically.

"Isn't this your stop?" Nicole asked pointing to the open door of the detention room. Jordan let out another sullen sigh then nodded. "I'll catch you later. If you make it call me later," Nicole said waving then she left. Jordan nodded again then stepped into the detention room. Erik was already seated at a table in the back of the room and grinned his usual "I'm up to no good grin," He always made whenever he saw her.

"Ah Ms. Cunningham. Nice of you to join us. You just made it in time for the party," Mr. Duwitt smirked sarcasticly. "Now nuff chit chat. Get to your seats. You know the deal. Back table. Next to Estrada. No fighting, No horseplay. No gum. Ok now that I've got that out of the way I'm off to do whatever it is we Teachers do after school. Have fun kiddies and try not to reach each others hair out." Then he walked out leaving the two alone.

Jordan who was now seated next to Erik glanced over at him only to find him trying to shoot spit ball at the ceiling. "I can't believe you're a senior. You give us a bad name. You are so immature," Jordan said rolling her eyes at him and he rolled his back. "Oh your sooo immature," Erik mocked. Jordan plugged her ears

"Whatever just don't talk to me." Erik muttered something but Jordan didn't hear what. What ever it had been she ignored it. And that's pretty much what they did the rest of detention. Ignored each other. When time came for detention to end she couldn't wait to get home. Jordan bolted out of there. She made it home around Four and in good time seeing as her and her parents were going somewhere.

Today was Friday and that meant the first day of her parents' eight-week 2nd honeymoon. They were going on a cruise and sending Jordan to stay with her aunt. Jordan didn't really mind though. Her Aunt was nice and plus she wanted to visit the Her long distance boy friend who lived next door to her. She ha d met Matt last time she had visited her aunt and since then they kept in touch.

Not to mention the women lived in California so she'd get to spend eight fun-filled weeks in the Cal rays. All and all it was a pretty good deal. Now completely forgetting about the lousy day she had so far she pushed it aside and replaced it with thoughts of sunbathing in Cucamonga and boogey boarding every morning. "Ok people throw me my beach towel I'm ready to go," Jordan exclaimed as she burst through the front door and throwing her book bag aside.

Her parents who stood in the living room by the staircase waiting for her and by the look on their faces it wasn't to say welcome home. "What's wrong?" She asked immediately as she stepped into the living room. Her mother frowned. Then bluntly said, "You're not going to your aunts. Ann had to cancel. She's having knee surgery and has to stay in he hospital for at least six weeks for Physical therapy afterwards."

Jordan asked, "Then where am I supposed stay. What? You guys are taking me with you?" A ray of hope came over Jordan Maybe this change wouldn't be so bad after all she thought. That was until Her father stepped and said. "No we couldn't get an extra ticket but we did find somebody else for you to stay with while were gone. You know Micky and Mel (Erik's mother and stepfather). I think you know their Son... Erik I think. They said they'd be happy to keep you while were gone!"
