The beginning:
Megan sat biting her nail. She was searching the internet. She was hoping to find something about her father, whom she had never met. Her mum just said he left and never returned. Clicking on something interesting she pushed back her blonde hair and put her glasses on.
She forgot about her original research. This was a true story, and it intrigued her. Not only that, but it was a story about a boyband a long time ago, called o-town. She still couldnÕt quite remember why they had split up. A tragedy... or something of that sort....
THE STORY...CHAPTER ONE
Essence stabbed her foot down on the accelerator again. Her car still wasnÕt moving. ÔOh god!Õ She yelled in frustration adjusting her glasses so she could see out into the road. Behind she could hear annoyed drivers beeping their horns. ÔOh, kiss me ass.Õ She said to herself. Suddenly her car made a sudden jolt. ÔWhat the...?Õ She trailed off as the car appeared to move down the hill, making itÕs own way at the speed of about 80. ÔStop! STOP STOP STOP!Õ Essence yelled jabbing her foot on the brake again and again.
The car was going out of control. Essence pulled stands of sweat filled blonde hair out of her face while still attempting to stop the vehicle. Finally it came to a halt but unfortunately stuck in the middle of the road. Before she knew it she could hear a *crash* behind her. Hardly daring to look she slowly turned her head. A white van was behind her and had knocked into her sports car.
ÔOh great, just great.Õ She said slamming her door. A tanned guy stepped out of the drivers seat. ÔWhy did you just slam into me?Õ She yelled at him even though he was only several feet away.
ÔBecause you just stopped in the middle of the road!Õ He said equally angry.
ÔWell didnÕt you see me?Õ Essence cried back. So far her day really wasnÕt going well. Now on top of it, she was gonna be bloody late for work. The young guy caught his breath.
ÔLook miss um...Õ He said holding out his hand.
ÔChasin, Essence Chasin.Õ She replied not bothering to Shake it. The guy took it away foolishly.
ÔEstrada, Erik Estrada.Õ He said mimicking her. Essence looked at him.
ÔWell?ÕShe said. ÔAre you going to pay for the damage?Õ
ÔMe?Õ Erik said his anger rising. ÔI didnÕt do anything! You were parked in the middle of the road! Thats not MY problem!Õ Suddenly a tall blonde guy ducked out of the car.
ÔErik man, why donÕt we just take the girl home and sort it out there?Õ Essence groaned.
ÔOh for goddess sake, there really is no need for that. Just give me the money then get out of my face and we can all carry on with our lives.Õ Ashley smiled.
ÔThis one has attitude.Õ He said. ÔCome on Erik, grab her and lets go.Õ
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Erik opened the door to their house. He opened the van door for Essence and she ignored him completely and strode into the house. She was beginning to try his nerves. There was only so much he could take and he had almost had it. ÔDo you want a coke?Õ Trevor said handing cokes out around the room.
ÔI donÕt do coke.Õ Essence replied. ÔDiet or nothing for me.Õ
ÔLike sheÕs some kind of goddess.Õ Jacob remarked to Dan. Dan smiled at him.
ÔI agree. She acts like some sort of princess.Õ Erik was biting his tongue, he didnÕt want his rage to come tumbling out. Essence sat in silence. Then she opened her mouth. ÔDid you bring me back to your place to play silent dummies?Õ She asked. That was it. Erik snapped.
ÔLook miss queen on a high throne. Just because you are pretty doesnÕt mean you are queen over us. We took you home because we felt bad about what we had done. Maybe we shouldnÕt have bothered!Õ He stormed up the stairs. EssenceÕs eyes followed him. Her lips formed a thin line and she hung her head.
ÔOoops.Õ She mumbled. ÔI-I didnÕt mean to.Õ She gently pushed her hair back. ÔBad day, Bad karma.Õ Trevor looked at her. ÔWould you care to tell Erik that?Õ He said. Essence looked at the floor again. She nodded her head and made her way up the stairs.
ÔNeed a hand?Õ Essence said leaning against ErikÕs door frame. Erik looked around at her.
ÔNot from you.Õ He replied and continued sorting out his washing.
ÔErik...Õ She said stepping into his room. Erik spun around again.
ÔWhat?Õ He said angrily. Essence scraped back her dirty blonde hair.
ÔIÕm really sorry. I know I can be a bitch. I was brought up thinking that, that was ok. ItÕs only after I realise I have been a complete bitch that I feel bad. I really have had a bad day.Õ
ÔIÕll say.Õ Erik said throwing his laundry basket to one side. ÔWell, IÕm sorry.Õ Essence said. ÔI guess IÕll leave.Õ ErikÕs eyes glanced up onto his shelf. He felt a tug at his heart.
ÔUnless....Õ He said uncertain. Essence turned sharply. ÔUnless you want to watch ÒSave the last danceÓ with me?Õ Essence smiled.
ÔReally?Õ She said as he reached and brought down the DVD. ÔSure!Õ She pushed her glasses up and lay on the bed next to Erik.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Essence pushed the covers off and looked around her. A pile of DVD cases were lying by her bed. They had watched bring it on, coyote ugly, meet joe black and 10 things I hate about you before finally crashing. Her grey eyes almost a misty blue studied the room carefully.
Erik was no where to be seen. She stretched and reached for her glasses on the bedside table. She dropped her tiny feet onto the blue carpeted floor and opened the door. She felt like she was in a strangers house- she WAS in a strangers house- five strangers to be precise. Suddenly she remembered her car.
She hurried down the stairs taking two at a time, her heart racing. She rushed into what she thought was the kitchen, unfortunately it was the bathroom and even worse, Dan was in the shower. ÔSHIT!Õ Dan cried grabbing a sponge and covering censored areas.
ÔOh...Õ Essence murmured not quite sure what to say. He was bloody gorgeous, that was sone thing but she was sure she couldnÕt say that. So without another word she left the room. After walking into a closet, the stairs to the basement and yet another bathroom (which was this time, thankfully empty) she found the kitchen.
ÔHey!Õ Erik said when he saw her. ÔSit.Õ He grabbed a bar stool and motioned for her to sit on it.
ÔThanks.Õ Essence said and revealed a dazzling smile.
ÔWe ordered a pizza.Õ He said. ÔItÕs only about nine thirty at night.Õ ÔMy car...Õ She started remembering why she had come down. She could of otherwise stayed up in ErikÕs bedroom all night. It had a cosy feel to it. ÔAll taken care of.Õ He said. ÔWe phoned.Õ Essence smiled again.
ÔUm, thanks.Õ She said finding the words hard to get out.
ÔNo problem.Õ Erik said. He looked into her eyes. There was something about her. Erik really didnÕt know what it was, but there was something...
