PUB JUG from the WINDJAMMER FANTOME 1927-1998

BALLANTINE'S
In 1981, My Wife I and booked a cruise on the WINDJAMMER FANTOME to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had a memorable time on this cruise. Today the FANTOME can only be remembered in our hearts and minds. The FANTOME was lost at sea, on October 27,1998, trying to evade Hurricane Mitch.
The cruise was a casual and relaxing time, as we helped hoist the sails and do some of the other enjoyable tasks aboard ship. I even got to steer with the big wheel several times.
I was just getting into collecting Pub Jugs and noticed that there was one on the back bar of the FANTOME. With a few sweet and kind words, I managed to talk the barmatron out of it. I am glad I did, as I cherish it all the more, knowing that the Windjammer FANTOME is still at sea. May she and her 31 Crewmembers rest in peace.
