MMT-EZ is an easy and complete solution to take your iMovie project to DVD or VideoCD. It does not claim to compete with professional applications, but hey for FREE, all the basic features are there, from encoding to burning. Just select a format and point to the QT reference .mov in you iMovie project folder. The movie will be encoded to mpeg2 or mpeg1 and burned to disk. Advanced options include stand-alone and parameter control of many functions. Testing was done on a G5 with internal Pioneer SuperDrive 106D dvd-rw/cd-rw drive, and a G4 with a firewire Que (Samsung Combo SM-304B) dvd+rw / cd-rw drives. Due to current licensing with cdrecord, dvd burning is limited to 1GB. (hope to change that soon)

You source movie should be as high of quality as possible, use tthe reference .mov inside the iMovie project folder. If you need to export as a QuickTime movie, use a high quality codec, such as Motion Jpeg A. Keep file names and paths short , avoid special characters in the names of files and folders. MMT-EZ will automatically detect dual processor systems and utilize both during video encoding. Not all dvd players will support xsvcd, svcd, or xvcd formats. Burning drives must be empty or have blank media to be found by the burning functions. The Finder must not have control of a blank disk, tell Finder to ignore the blank media. Recommended: set "System Preferences"-> "Hardware" -> "CDs & DVDs" -> "When you insert a blank CD/DVD" set to "Ask what to do" or "Ignore". Stand alone functions do not check for standard compliance mpeg video and audio. QuickTime cannot play video cds, however VideoLan and other apps may be able to play the mpegs without controls. In stand-alone dvd players, a dvd should auto start, pressing play will start a video cd.
