William Northrip,died at his home in Stoutland on Wednesday following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday in First Baptist Church in Stoutland with Rev.Alpha DeBerry officiating.
Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery under direction of Colonial Chapel,Lebanon.
Survivors are his wife,Birdie,one daughter,Florence DeBerry of Stoutland;two sons,Francis of Norfolk,VA and Floyd of Mississippi;seven grandchildren;three nieces and nephews.

He served in the military on 31 May 1780 in Henry County Va.. Jacob first enlisted in the Virginia Militia at Henry County, Virginia on 31 May 1780, and served three months in Captain Harman Critz/Krits' Virginia Company. They marched against the Tories and pursued them as far as the Yadkin River. He again enlisted about Christmas of the following winter, and served three months as a private in Captain Levi Jarvis' Virginia Company. During this last tour of duty, he acted as guard for five hundred British prisoners. He died on 13 Jul 1848 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He was married to Jane in 1787 in Wilkes Co., NC. Jane was born about 1767. She died in 1852 in Gasconade County, Mo.
