Excerpt from Thunder Bay Beach Times, 2000 By Carsten Stroud

"You all know what those nights are like at Thunder Beach, those fire nights on the cool white sand under the stars, voices of friends in the darkness, and in the center of it all, the grand old lady of the beach, the Thunder Beach Inn, yellow light from every window, children running barefoot in the warm August night, the tang of pines and the sharp clear bite of woodsmoke on the wind. The Inn was all of that, and it's gone now, the shuttered windows dark, the green lawns fading. The Thunder Beach Homes, closed forever last September, and now a part of the long sweet history of Thunder Beach..."
