Synopsis:
Naina Saigal's twin sister, Sonia, is raped and murdered by a serial killer.
Naina tracks him down and has him him arrested. The killer is let off for insufficient evidence against him. Now he is coming after Naina and her family.
Can Captain Suraj help Naina protect herself ? Or will Naina be the next victim ? (taken from indiandvdwala.com)

Naina (Kajol), frustrated by the police's inability to catch the killer, goes to the Hospital where she found out they are looking for clues. She sees Gokul (Ashutosh Rana) and recognizes him as the creepy man who delivered a telegram to her one evening. (He had planned to rape and kill Naina, but her mother showed up, scaring him away.) Naina follows him and overhears him roughing up his nurse girlfriend and threatening her with the "same fate as the others". Naina reports this to the police and he is arrested. At the trial, Gokul's girlfriend Sunanda refuses to testify against him when he promises to marry her. Gokul is then set free. Gokul and Sunanda marry and he has her write 30 letters to him in advance. He then kills her.
In the meantime, Naina is determined to stop Gokul. She finds out his address and follows him. She stops him from killing another girl and he sees her and chases her. While running from him, she runs straight into retired Major Suraj (Sanjay Dutt), who also happens to be blind. She goes to his house and tells him her story. He imparts some wisdom on her and tells her where she can find him if he ever needs her. Naina winds up going there later and leaves a note with Suraj's friend, little Bhim, thanking Suraj for what she learned from him.
Naina gets Gokul hauled in again by the police claming Gokul has killed his wife as her friend hasn't seen her and Sunanda's paychecks came back returned. Gokul pulls out the letters Sunanda wrote to prove she is still alive. Afterwards, Gokul kidnaps Naina on the road and throws her in his trunk. She kicks out a tail light and cops see this and follow him. He winds up having an accident and the car rolls. Before he can get to Naina though, the cops approach and he runs off. Naina runs to Suraj's house in a panic. Suraj yells at her for being weak, saying she needs to be strong to conquer Gokul. Suraj begins training her to fight and to take care of herself.
During the time of training, Suraj and Naina fall for each other. One night they express feelings for each other but Suraj pushes her away.
One day Naina goes to Gokul's apartment and trashes it. He sees her biking away from his place. This causes him to call Naina nearby from Diya's (Naina's youngest sister) school. He threatens to take Diya. He does take Diya and after frantic searching, Naina finds her back safe at home. Diya then sings a song that her "friend" taught her earlier. It basically is a threat. Either Naina comes to him or he will kill Diya. Naina's mother, scared by what happened, takes Diya and Naina to Kabir's house (Sonia's finace). However, Naina goes back home and calls Gokul, saying she will be alone that night and to come for her.
Naina slips into Suraj's house unbeknownst to him and steals his gun. While leaving his house, Bhim, who was just getting back, sees her leave and runs to tell Suraj. Suraj calls Naina and Naina, thinking it's Gokul, yells at him to come over soon. When she realizes it's Suraj she hangs up.
Suraj discovers his gun is missing and figures out what is going on. He rushes over to Naina's house. Gokul has come in the meantime and Naina is shooting at him. Gokul gets the upper hand and ties her up. Suraj crashes through the door and fights with Gokul. Once again, Gokul seems to be winning and grabs a kitchen knife and starts stabbing Suraj. This makes Naina furious and she breaks out of her binds. She finally shoots Gokul and empties the gun into him.
Afterwards, the police have a little ceremony honoring Naina for her bravery. A note is given to her which is a letter from Suraj saying he is leaving. She rushes to the airport, but security stops her, saying only passengers are allowed in. She talks with the airport manager and he has Suraj paged.
Naina tells him over the phone not to leave her and that she loves him. He drops the phone down. Naina starts to leave, broken-hearted and runs into Suraj like she did when she first met him. He says he loves her to and they embrace.
