SFM - A the beginning tell us a few words about history of Helheim. Do You have had a lot of changes in Your Line-up. Introduce us Your present Line-up?

V:We started out in 92 under a different name, but it wasn't until 93 we released our first demo entitled Helheim. After that we released another demo which gave us a contract with Solistitium rec. There we released two albums before we signed with Ars metalli. There we released a m-cd and a full-lenght before we ended up where we are now which is at massacre rec.
Our 4th album is now out entitled Yersinia pestis. Our current line is the original pluss two more. That is: V'gandr-bass & vocals, H'grimnir-guitar & vocals, Hrymr-drums, Lindheim-synth and noises & Thorbjørn-guitar.


SFM - What kind of Metal must the listener expect when he first listen to Helheim?


V:quite extreme metal but with a great variety. Quite innovative at times and highly interesting.

SFM - Tell us who is an author of Helheim lyrics and what does they refer to?


V:That would be me and they deal with the darker sides of norse mythology but also my own reflections towards human errors like christianity.


SFM - How do You compare Helheim several years ago to the present one?

V:We have evolved from being young and unexperienced to a band which great confidence. We are always in motion and never dwells with the past.


SFM - What bands have been an influence for You?

V:None actually since mine and the other band members musical approach a quite different from time to time, so the inspiration lies within ourselves.


SFM - Why have You chosen the band name "Helheim".

V:Because it sounds cool and has a great meaning and also reflects our lyrics.


SFM - Are the other projects you or other band members are involved in?

V:I'm involved in Aeternus and Deathcon. The others only got Helheim.

SFM - Do you have contacts to other bands from the "Metal Scene"?

V:Only the ones from Bergen.

SFM - What is Your favourite Helheim album/song?

V:That must be the latest one and the title track and Stones to the burden.

SFM - And how did you discover metal and the underground personally? What your parents and familly tell about your "hobbies"... Is it hobby or pure way of your life? How does it looking, please share with me....


V:My brother liked heavy metal, and he's 11 years older than me so I got introduced to metal at an early stage. When I became older I became more and more extreme concerning metal and have stayed there ever since. Metal is my life, not a hobby.


SFM - Are You inspirated by Satanism, Mythology, Occultism, Legends....?

V:Only by the Norse mythology.

SFM - What kind of movies, books do You like to watch, read. Is there any genre that`s Your favourite?


V: Got no favourites in either genre, so an impossible question to answer.

SFM - Best memories?

V: The tour with King Diamond.

SFM - Worst experiences?

V: I don't know.

SFM - What do You want get to know after death?

V:Nothing since there's nothing.

SFM - Live & Death?

V:It & everything.

SFM - Love&Hate?

V:Necessary feelings.

SFM - What do You think about Metal scene (in Poland, Europe)?

V:Very good audience in Poland. I guess they're quite famous. The european scene in general is good I guess.


SFM - Tell us a few sentences about future of Helheim?

V: Continue to make metal, to play more live and to grow as musicians.
