DRAGONS – Almost all mentioned below have a special Breath attack towards their attackers and an ability to cast a certain “spell”. Each is found in a different area and their appearances are quite different from the others.

 

Black – Found in marshes and underground caves. They are cunning and evil. Deep set eyes. When young their scales are a black to very dark gray in color but as they age the color seems to dull some. They smell of rotten vegetation or stagnant water. Prefers to eat fish or shellfish. Kills other animals and leaves them in stagnant water for a few days before coming back to eat them. Uses ambush tactic to kill. Breath attack: 1) Acid – used to dissolve and blind prey. 2) Oily black smoke – used to choke prey. Able to perform 4 spells: 1) Darkness 2) Insect plague 3) Corrupt water 4) Charm reptiles

 

.Blue – Found in temperate, warm deserts and also underground. Very territorial. Frilled ears and large horn on snout. Various blue polished scales. They seem to crackle when they are building up static energy. Can soar high above the deserts. They like to collect gems – loves sapphires. They eat red meat, usually cooked first. They attack by burrowing in sand or from the sky. Breath attack: Lightening. Spells: 1) Create or destroy water 2) Imitate sound 3) Able to make things appear they are there when they really aren’t.

 

Brass – Found in temperate areas, deserts, plains. Brown scales as young that turn brassy with age. Large head plates which extend back to protect their neck and back of head. Eyes look like molten metal. Like to lay in the desert sun and bask. Will eat anything. Tongues are dexterous and allows them to talk, speak many languages, and collect dew. Fights with Blue dragons over territory. Doesn’t like to fight if they can talk. Breath attack: Sleeping gas – used if others won’t talk (if in a fight) then buries victim in the ground to its head so they have no choice but to talk. Spells: 1) Suggestion – to assert control over something 2) Control the wind 3) Control the weather in a limited area.

 

Bronze – Found in temperate and warm water regions and underground. Likes to observe others by skill of polymorphying – shape shifting. This allows them to take the shape of other creatures to observe without being seen. In young their scales are yellow tinged with green but as they age the scales become deeper bronze tones. Able to swim and breathe under water due mainly to their diet of fresh and marine water creatures and plants. Would rather bribe or force attackers away with magic than to fight. Breath attacks: 1) Lightening – used to electrocute 2) Gas that repulses away. Spells: 1) 1) Fog to confuse and disorient 2) Control the weather in a local area.

 

Copper – Found in temperate and warm deserts or underground caves. Huge with 6 legs. Young are a rusty brown in color and turn coppery with age. Turquoise eyes. Intelligent – often is a riddler. Good natured but guards his wealth closely. Excellent jumpers and climbers. Will eat almost anything but loves giant scorpions. Breath attacks: 1) Acid – used to dissolve and blind 2) Sleeping gas. Not able to perform any spells.

 

 

 

Gold – Found in any climate. Graceful, wise and good. The young are a dark yellow that turns golden as they get older. Often seen with loyal guards who are usually giants. Uses spells in combat, not much on the physical. Highly magical creatures. Breath attacks: 1) Fire – to burn 2) Gas that weakens. Able to perform 7 spells: 1) Cloud that kills 2) Firefall 3) Fire shield – used for self protection 4) Shield – invisible wall of energy to protect self. 5) Sleep 6) Stinking cloud 7) Slow – reduces the attackers speed.

 

Green – “Forest dragons” Found in wooded or forest areas. Aggressive, will attack for no reason and terrorize victim. Spiky crest that runs down length of back. The green colored scales seem to lighten, as they get older. They have a distinct smell of chlorine. Will eat almost anything but love Elves and Sprites. Able to also breathe under water. Breath attack: Corrosive acid. Spells: 1) Plant growth 2) Command plants 3) Suggestion.

 

Red – “Fire dragons” Found in mountains and large caves. Smoky odor. Red in color but their wings are gray. They like to sit on mountain tops to see the area below. They eat meat and love humans or young elves. They’ve been known to persuade village leaders to hold maiden sacrifices to him. Confident and very greedy. Will use its claws rather than its breath attack: Fire. A very well known red dragon is Dewi, found on the Welsh flag. Spells: 1) Locate objects 2) Suggestion.

 

Silver – Found in temperate and mountainous regions, also underground caves. Cheerful and highly skilled in flight. Able to shape shift usually into human form for company. Young ones are a blue gray in color and become silver with age. Likes to live on mountain tops but this causes conflict with the red dragons. Breath attacks: 1) Freezing 2) Paralyzing gas cloud. Spell: Able to control the weather.

 

White – Found in cold climates with permanent snow usually in underground icy caves. The least intelligent dragon of all these and often smaller in size. Crest on head. Predators. Likes to collect gems – particularly diamonds. Will eat anything frozen. His natural enemy is the Frost giant who hunts the white dragon for food and armor. Able to walk on ice. Prefers a swift assault by either bursting up through the ground or by swooping down on its prey. Breath attack: Blast of cold used to freeze. Spells: 1) Freezing fog 2) Icy wind 3) Walls of ice.
