So, we made it to Hanoi! Mom’s insistence on flying business class has proven to be a true blessing. The flight up was pleasant. We were in the air less than two hours and they served us a delicious dinner, which was wonderful because I was famished! And, the tickets for all three of us were only $300 total!

Two of the World Child staff, Kim and Martin, met us at the airport with a taxi and escorted us back to the hotel. They got us checked in and up to the room. I gave Martin my papers to take to the embassy tomorrow morning. Then they will come to get us at 1:00 to take me to the interview. Assuming it goes well, we will pick up Georgia’s visa on Wednesday. Then our last step is to see if we can get a flight out of here sooner than the one we have booked for May 2nd.
The Melia is spectacular. There was only a suite available so we are forced to go first class once again – oh, the horror of it! We have a huge living room and big master bath, a half bath and a lovely bedroom. The breakfast buffet included with our room was amazing – French toast, dim sum, cheeses, bacon, miso soup, eggs cooked to order, fruit of all kinds, and much more than I can remember. I am already looking forward to tomorrow. Oh, and the women who work there all insisted on holding Georgia while Mom and I ate. She loved it!

She just lights up when people speak Vietnamese to her. Mom and I are going to try to find a CD of nursery rhymes or lullabies to bring home for her so she can hear the sounds of her first language.
